Ah... Okay. I was actually practicing on some scribble portraits last night. Different musicians in motion. Trying to convey that motion. Leaving them open ended. Anyway, I'm not really happy with most of them and I just realized that what I've done is to make too many of my values the same. It's either dark shading, or light shading with no scale. Thank you for pointing that out. I will have to get used to keeping it in mind. Excellent piece, as always. Your explanations and examples make me feel like this goal is obtainable.
