This may be the BEST video I've seen explaining the difference between the scripting method and other planning methods. Thank you!

And PS. I am also a Rebel and beat myself up for not doing what I keep putting on my planner. Thanks for bringing that into the discussion!

I’m totally a rebel as well. I don’t listen to anything I tell myself to do, lol. But I’ve been using the planner perfect method for 5 years now and it totally works!

I've just started using this method within the last few weeks.... so far this morning I've done some laundry, did the dishes, cleaned the catbox, paid some bills and showered lol I've been a list maker for the past couple of years and sure occasionally got things done but this method really pushes me in a different way.. mostly because I put it in more of a time frame. You are right though I'm a rebel with a to-do list.. I can write a list out and just look at it and go nope not going to do it lol adding a flow to it as well as adding things in that you want to do really make it work.

This is what i've been doing like forever, although I've been into to-do's too but "scripting" as you call it is such more fulfilling in some ways☺️

I loved this video! Are you still scripting? I would love to see an updated video with your current setup. 💕

I tried it and was absolutely obessed. The creator is amazing. THEN one week i forgot an appointment, a couple things i needed to get done and a reminder for my husband. I realized i would get so lost in the scripting part of it and totally missed the mark on so much. I love the idea but it just didn't work for me and i felt bad because i bought all new notebooks and her travelers notebook and i felt i wasted money. All in all, i learn ALOT from Jenny.

This technique isn't actually something original, because it is taken from a psychology study called Implementation Intentions. It helps with habit and behavior modification, specially when struggling to handle certain tasks. If coupled with another strategy called Coping Plan, it improves the results even more. You can keep a to-do list of the things you do ordinarily, like laundry, and script those you struggle with, like, in my case, exercising. There are tons of articles and videos about the subject.

Thanks for sharing! I’ve seen this method before, but it finally clicked when you compared the two methods. I’m going to try the script method again; last time I pretty much just write things I wanted to do in sentences but they were still just listing to dos😅

Do you always script the night before? I am intrigued because I am now retired and pursuing all sorts of interests: education, music, community work, crafts, journaling. My ideas are greater than my time. I’ve already learned that doing 4 focused things in one day is a lot. (a whole lots of tasks/chores becomes a block which is a focus). The intentionality is great, need to see if I can work out how to do this.

This video was so helpful to me! I have wanted to try this method but have been a lister for so long I couldn't imagine how scripting would work for me. I have been in a planner funk for a while and what you said about the to-do list not being fun for you really was eye-opening for me, not to mention that I don't like being told what to do, haha. I'm more encouraged to try the Planner Perfect method now. Thank you!

Great video! You explained it so well. I’ve used the PP method in the past but struggled with not accomplishing what I envisioned and scripted out. I appreciate you mentioning that we’re all different! 😊

I think different types of planning fits different personalities. I tried this method for a while, and found it very stressful!! Give me a bullet point any day. Also, as I'm sure many others have pointed out, our days rarely go as we plan or imagine.

Hi. How do you think this would work for a mom with a full-time job and two busy boys’ schedules. I feel like I would need a more rigid schedule-I don’t tend to have a lot of time in between things (of course right now with COVID-19-it’s not so bad). Actually, while writing this, I was thinking maybe I can do something like this just for me-self-care schedule, quotes I like, meditatios. IDK, any suggestions?

So how do you handle it when your scripted day does not go to plan?
@MotivatedbyStickers4 жыл бұрын
@@dominiquekostadinov Thanks for the response. So do you cross out what you previously wrote that didn't go to plan or just say "oh this happened instead" I definitely would like to see more videos about this. I've been watching the Planner Perfect channel, but I'll be honest - I'm a little turned off with all the religion talk.

I wonder how well this would work for me - due to cognitive changes from MS I worry about "scripting" bringing back to the days when my brain would would undermine my trying to get things done (things like working on a list of activities where I would check something off as done at work when I was starting but later I would found out I did not actually do it but my mind was full of certainty that I did do it) but it may be a tool that could be modified now that I learned a few of needs

Do you feel that this has worked well for you during COVID? I have 3 kids and am working FT from home. My kids come downstairs all at different times wanting food, or asking questions and so on. I would love to try to make a set time for breakfast, lunch, and so much more. It seems so difficult trying to work from home with 3 kiddos. I love the extra time with them, but when one is down by 7, the other two come later. By that time the one that came down at 7 is already playing the Nintendo, the other two want food... the nintendo one wants it later because he is already absorbed in the Nintendo. You name it. LOL. I want the days in general to run smoother, but I especially need to envision and imagine much less stressful days at home with COVID. :)

OK... so here's my question... if you don't "follow your script" and your day is NOTHING like you scripted... what do you do? Do you "rewrite it" to say what you did?
@rosemarysoto89124 жыл бұрын
Excellent job! It really helps me get the idea of this method hearing it from a fellow newbie, because Jenny has been doing it for so long she’s got all her tweaks figured out, but we all have to make our own tweaks. I’m such a rule follower I have all these questions about how to translate my familiar world into this new world. Like, is it ok to make a list when there’s literally a list of things I have to remember to accomplish that day. Or once I have this lovely day scripted out and then splat! Life happens. Now what do I do with this lovely script I worked so hard on. How do I handle incoming information throughout the day that needs to be noted somewhere so I don’t forget. I mean life ebbs and flows and you can’t script all the unexpected things. So these are all the panic-stricken questions I have when looking at this system. But you’ve really answered a lot of my questions in this video and made it simple and easy to incorporate. I’m looking forward to scripting my tomorrow now!

The Pixie Planner . Ah, a rule following rebel sounds like an oxymoron but it makes sense here.
