Here's a breakdown of the song -"Rihanna just hit me on the text Last night I left hickeys on her neck" (Referring to MGK's diss track where he said Eminem is too afraid to ask for her number) -"Insult me in a line, compliment me on the next" (Mgk kept complimenting Eminem like a fanboy) -"Was watchin' 8 Mile on my NordicTrac" (MGK said the only time Eminem saw 8 mile was at his treadmill, Eminem confirms saying he saw it at his NordicTrack which is the most expensive treadmill) -"Realized I forgot to call you back Here's that autograph for your daughter, I wrote it on a Starter cap" (Stan reference, How MGK is just a bitter fan who never got his idol's attention) -"But how you gonna name yourself after a damn gun And have a man-bun?: (No need to explain that) -"Say you got me in a scope, but you grazed me I say one call to Interscope and you're Swayze" (Swayze here is a synonym of Ghost, Meaning Eminem says how his one call can make MGK disappear from Interscope) -"But I'm 45 and I'm still outselling you" (No need to explain) -"But you're a fuckin' mole hill Now I'ma make a mountain out of you, woo!" (Em by calling MGK a molehill /someone relatively unimportant, Says he will make a mountain out of him /giving him undeserved attention) -"Gunner? Bitch, you ain't a bow and arrow" (MGK named himself after a gun but Eminem thinks he is nothing, not even a bow and arrow) -"Playin' dead, that's the only time you hold still" (MGK calls himself a gunner and a gunner holds still while aiming but Eminem says MGK is nothing. He says the only time you hold still is while you play dead) -"Are you eating cereal or oatmeal? What the fuck's in the bowl, milk? Wheaties or Cheerios? 'Cause I'm takin' a shit in 'em, Kelly, I need reading material …Dictionary…" (In MGK's diss he says all Eminem does is stay inside and read a dictionary, MGK is also something out of a bowl in his video, which completely unrelated to the video) -"Luxury, oh, you broke, bitch? Yeah, I had enough money in '02 To burn it in front of you, ho Younger me? No, you're the whack me, it's funny but so true I'd rather be 80-year-old me than 20-year-old you" (Eminem was way ahead of MGK at his age and still is way ahead of MGK) -"Got more fans than you in your own city, lil' kiddy, go play" (No need to explain) -"Shootin' a video just to fuckin' dig your own grave" (MGK is holding a shovel in his diss track video, Eminem says he is digging his own grave by shooting that video) -"Kelly, they'll be putting your name Next to Ja, next to Benzino-die, motherfucker! Like the last motherfucker sayin' Hailie in vain" (Eminem says the only list where MGK's name will be is the list of rappers whose career Eminem has ended) -"My biggest flops are your greatest hits" (No need to explain) -"The game's mine again and ain't nothin' changed but the locks So before I slay this bitch I, mwah, give Jade a kiss" (Eminem shouts out the rapper Jadakiss who is in a rap group named LOX, He also talks about Hailie as her middle name is "Jade") -"Bein' rich-shamed by some prick usin' my name for clickbait In a state of bliss 'cause I said his goddamn name" (MGK clickbaited Eminem's name to get views on his diss track) -"This is it, as big as you're gonna get, so enjoy it Had to give you a career to destroy it" (No need to explain) -"But if I was three foot 11 You'd look up to me, and for the record You would suck a dick to fuckin' be me for a second" (Eminem says even if he was 3 foot 11, MGK would still look up to him, Referring to MGK's diss where he says he is taller than Eminem) -"How the fuck can him and I battle? He'll have to fuck Kim in my flannel I'll give him my sandals 'Cause he knows long as I'm Shady, he's gon' have to live in my shadow" (Em claims that MGK would have to be fucking Kim, before he was a real threat to Em. But in order to fuck Kim, MGK would have to be even more of an Eminem wannabe than he already is, literally wearing his clothing. Em suggests that he’ll help MGK out in this department, even giving him his sandals. This is also possibly a reference to the “Rap Devil” video in which MGK can be seen wearing sandals with socks. Em is also be saying that as long as he’s ‘shading’) MGK, the younger rapper will remain well below him "in his shadow") -"You're fuckin' salty 'Cause Young Gerald's balls-deep inside of Halsey" (Eminem says MGK is salty about how his ex Halsey is getting banged by the rapper G Easy) -"Who else want it, Kells? Attempt fails, Budden, L's Fuckin' nails in these coffins as soft as Cottonelle" (Eminem likens his enemies' insults to an impotent attempt at a burial, where the proverbial closing of his coffin is carried out with Cottonelleproducts-a company known for its toilet paper and flushable wipes.) -"But, Kells, the day you put out a hit's the day Diddy admits That he put the hit out that got Pac killed, ah!" (Em says the day you make a hit will be the day "Diddy" = MGK's boss will admit that he got Tupac killed (which he never will) It was nice knowing byou MGK R.I.P.

This is why Eminem has to be the GOAT. Who else consistently puts out songs with bars that while having a DIRECT MEANING, also has multiple entendres that you literally need to sit and decipher their meanings to like some sort of puzzle box?? I honestly think most of Eminem's detractors are completely oblivious to layers of meanings in his lyrics. when Joe Budden said Eminem's lyrics have no content anymore that's exactly what I thought to myself is Joe Budden is not taking time to break down all the different things Eminem is mixing into his lyrics.

@piousdrake9705 let me clarify. I saw this explanation on a KZbin video. I'm not sure if it was intentional, but the movie is called killshot. One of the main characters is named Wayne Colson, who is being hunted by "a hit man" after being put into a witness protection program. I'm not sure if the hitman "Blackbird" (Mickey Rourke) is, or was a police marshal however. I also can't find any scenes relating to Colson's death by the hands of Blackbird, but it is entirely possible.

I've watched about 20 reaction videos, this might be the best one. Ya'll get animated, I love it. For anyone that thinks he was serious, 'Pac was a huge influence on Em, and doesn't finish the line, "...that got Tupac kill-ahhh", as if he's frustrated that he took it that far. Still a great lyrical bar, and the fact that he ends it that way, makes it deeper. And, of course, for Stan's, "I'm just playing Diddy, you know I love you," is Goddamn brilliant! I'm not voting on a winner between a multi-album Diamond rapper and a rapper that struggles to hit gold records with new RIAA certifications. Like when the champion Apollo Creed allowed the local Rocky Balboa to grace the same ring, it's an honor that MGK is even allowed to be discussed in the same breath.

Plot Twist "Killshot is also a movie directed by John Madden. The plot features main character Carmen Colson, who is targeted by an experienced, psychopathic hitman. Machine Gun Kelly’s birth name is Colson Baker. Em uses the film as a metaphor for how he is the experienced rapper going after someone out of their depth." Edit: There's also a line about how MGK gets "Swayze" after Em made a call to Interscope. the Actor Patrick Swayze died September 14th same day Killshot was released. Patrick Swayze acted in a move called "Ghost" meaning MGK was acting ghost when Em made that call. Deep. Also 2Pac died September 13th...

First off, you guys are awesome. Second, Eminem won this, hands down. Kelly's may have been better sounding to more people, but Eminem doesn't need a chorus, music video, or crazy beat in the background to slay this guy. He did it with pure lyrical talent, and it's impossible to get every meaning he's trying to convey. Kelly's biggest selling song had to be with Camila Cabello, not hating on her, but he just doesn't have what it takes to make it big. Kamikaze was a surprise album, and still sold more in one day than Kelly's. You don't mess with a living legend.

@@timmyturner4997That's how Eminem always wins. There's so much to discover in his tracks that people talk about it for ages. First listen: Pretty good, I love the parts where he just goes with the beat and murders it. Second listen: damn, that was worse than I thought. Third listen: oh fuck this is brutal. Tenth listen: jesus christ Eminem he's just a fame whore trying to get attention, you didn't have to kill his soul. You got the devil inside you, man. And everyone already knew. People warned him. Em brought up Diddy because Diddy pays MGK. Diddy found MGK so diddy let the diss come out.
@fishrrelaxing93616 жыл бұрын
Riki Kobayashi no he brought him up cause diddy financed and authorized the video.. it was a warning for diddy to back the fuck up and check himself.. and diddy is semi known for the death of pac as he hired the two hit men and then failed to even pay them.. “rumors” but we’ll know and valid and justified ones.. “skeletons in the closet” ems word play is so far beyond most comprehension. This song seems plain but it’s triple and quadruple word play and the hottest fire ever when you break down the bars and know all the history of hip hop
@tysonrinker59586 жыл бұрын
No there is not triple and quadruple word play in this song. It's just people taking his lyrics and trying to manipulate them Into meaning something else. Real word play is way deeper than this , people don't know though because they think Eminem is a lyrical genius. Listen to real lyrical geniuses, and I'm not talking about in rap, I'm talking abnout in stories and poets who know how to do real quadruple word plays. This diss song em wrote is nothing of the sort.

Most people got the obvious meaning, u grazed me as a flesh wound - your diss was wack, but now is my turn and I won't graze u, I'll make sure it's a killshot. There's another interpretation. MGK called Em the GOAT in that line where he says he has Em in the scope. How do you say when goat is eating? It's grazing :) You only grazed me bitch (u only fed me as I am the GOAT). You guys take me BACK. High school in 90s with my homies, sitting on apartment staircases, breaking down lyrics to new hip hop releases with authentic and excited outburts of pure joy, shock and awe. This track reminds me of the good ol days of hip hop. And a good diss track was definitely fun, but in this case, Eminem is doing more than taking down someone as whack and talentless as kelly. He's deciding to come on down for a sec and make an example out of him. He's, in the process, schooling the newer generations on what hip hop ACTUALLY is. Bars, like you said. Intelligence and wit. Clever but casual poignant perceptiveness and intuition. Respect for the ones who came before and paved the way. Recognition of your relatively lowly place in the world when compared to your elders and predecessors. All of this is lacking in the fans of the faux hip hop of today. There are so many happily ignorant, entitled young people who needed that whoopin', not just this nobody who isn't worth referencing anymore.

Aurora Boreealuss totally agree with you. I used to do the same thing back in high school, then I went to prison right after graduating college. I’ve missed over twelve years of rap and hip hop and I gotta admit I was ashamed of what happened to it while I was inside and can’t stand the direction it’s gone. But I’m glad Eminem’s working to move hip-hop in the right direction. He’s really bringing me back to listening to it. I was excited to see Joyner Lucas featured on the Kamikaze album too, he’s another great artist.
