The Janitor actually being outfoxed, Cox actually being nice and buddy buddy with JD, honestly it’s like bizarro world.
@capndayafterday2 жыл бұрын
I love that the janitor just replied to Kelso with such respect. Like, you got me sir. Never expected it from you. Made the scene work so well. And Cox being there for JD when he really needed it, not just JD being needy, such a great character moment.

@Russell Stevens Even though he appeared in like 5 episodes, he was an absolutely amazing character, and the story arc they gave him was simple but great. First couple of times we see him he was a mindless loser who wasn't realizing he was wasting his life, but I think it's by the end of the second episode we see him in that we're shown how much he loves JD, when he confronts Dr Cox and tells him that he's ruining JD's passion for medicine by acting like such a A**hole all the time. He gives one of the best speeches in the entire series, and by the end of it, Dr Cox shows him respect and actually follows his advice. Then, the next time he comes, JD tells him that he needs to get his life together because everybody thinks he's pathetic. At first, he's hurt but, in the end he chooses to follow JD's advice and turns his life around. Finally, the last time we see him (except for the finale), he basically comes to thank JD for the wake up call he gave him, and offers him a car, which in the end of the episode they use to go see JD's son. On their way back, they both smile at the idea that Sam (JD's son who he named after their father), looks so much like their father. That's brilliant story telling in my opinion, and that's why I like scrubs, even the secondary characters are well fleshed out, and the show wouldn't be the same without them.

I don't agree with that completely. Whilst he doesn't cry or become incredibly emotional, this is still a very deep and touching episode. It's a very different kind of mourning; more of a celebration of someone's life really. Besides, John Ritter doesn't seem like the type who would want to be remembered by crying instead of laughing.

This is far too late(five years in point of fact), but Scrubs isn't strictly a comedy show. While described as a comedy, the show at times deals with very serious subjects of failure, death, and grief. This scene is particularly poignant because Dr. Cox (on the far left) often treats J.D. (middle) rather harshly in order to prepare him for his life as a full-time doctor, but in this (and a select few others) he shows a more sensitive and caring side, and recognizes that J.D. looks up to him as a mentor and role model. Like I said, this comment is coming far after the fact, and maybe by this point you've watched all of scrubs. If you haven't, and your English has improved, I suggest you do!
