Yeah what Alucard did to Seras was definitely cruel...however, she was screwed even if Alucard didn't shoot her. Think about it, Seras could have either been killed and sent to the afterlife or worse turned into a ghoul a forced to submit to the priest. Alucard is thousands of years old and could see shooting her to kill the priest and then offering to turn her into a vampire,AS A MERCY in comparison to what could have happened

If I’m not wrong seras was a virgin so if the priest would have bit her she would have became a vampire anyways. I think they explained it in the show that only pure ( virgins) can become vampires and the rest become ghouls

@@kingsix6785 I think it was later clarified that you can only become a vampire if you *want to* and the vampire in question agrees to turn you, hence why Alucard went through the trouble of asking for her consent in the matter As otherwise she would have just turned into a ghoul or just another soul amongst the millions Alucard has

But integra in the episode did say deflowerd Humans become ghouls and Virgins become vampires. So it’s both you have to be a virgin and want to become a vampire to become a vampire.
