Escanors Sunshine ability elevates his power level with the height of the sun. The higher the sun, the stronger he is. And High Noon being the Sun's highest and hottest point, he's at maximum power at noon

Tbf his "High Noon" state is mainly overpowered cause it makes him literally impervious to ALL damage for 1 full minute which, considering how strong he gets, is PLENTY of time

One thing CJ left out with Galland was that Galland ran away right before Escanor could attack him. Escanor was lining up his attack and when Galland saw it he ran. He chose to run away and turn to stone rather than get hit by Escanors attack.

Escanor is the best thing about that show easily. He's built so entirely different he can actually back up every extremely cocky thing he says. It's the greatest. His theme song is pretty good too. You should really look up the full fight with Estarossa. The Japanese dub of the part where he starts the "who decided that" speech is one of the best things I've seen in anime.

And he never lost a fight so he didn't need to have character development like the others did since his power was from a grace. He's still easily one of the best characters in that show for the majority of people

Mael who is the most powerful Archangel is the original owner of Sunshine, when Mael succumbed to the power of Demon's, the Darkness that Demons have, his power of Sunshine left him due to him choosing Darkness over Divinity and went into Escanor when he was born, as a result he was physically stronger than everyone around him. When it hits Noon, Escanor is at his most powerful due to the Sun being at it's absolute highest, after that he gradually gets weaker with the setting of the Sun.
