Come to north florida to the santa fe river and there are redbreasts as big as soccer balls use small jigs and hotdogs.

I also fish the swamps for redbreast . i fish the Combahee river using crickets with a cork or i use beetle spins tipped with crickets or cutie spin spinner baits tipped with crickets. I really enjoyed watching the video ! I use a kayak to fish in the swamp. Im from beaufort

Swampfox223, We were practically neighbors. I am from Fairfax, about 40 miles NW of Beaufort . Every weekend in the summer we spent at Hunting Island and also went to the Water Festival. I always used a white beetle spin with a red dot. It would catch'em.

+ANTZPound4Pound for rods, you can get some decent 1's at your local wal-mart for about $12 - $20, they come with a reel already, you just have to switch out the line that it has on it for about 5 - 10 lb test which will run you about $5 a spool. I went and bought a fishing combo pack which has rod, reel, a small tackle box that comes with hooks, a few split shot weights, some jigs, 2 bobbers for about $18 at wal - mart, nice rod too. For fresh water fishing, 5 - 15 lb test is all you really need to catch everything from bass, cats, bream and nice size redbreast. Hope this all helps ya man and enjoy the fishing lol.
