Scuba diving in Saltstraumen - the worlds strongest tidal current

In September 2018 we visited Saltstraumen outside Bodø. This is one of the strongest tidal currents in the worlds and the marine life is spectacular. It is extremely important to know where and when to enter the water in order to do this type of diving safely. We joined a dive gathering organized by Bodø Sportsdykkerklubb and Saltstraumen Dykkecamp. With local divers as guides, we enjoyed three fantastic dives in Sundstraumen, Åselistraumen and Saltstraumen.

Passed there with my sailboat going trough when it was in middle between high and low tide and still then the current was so strong you had to go full speed to not spend to much time passing...

There are massive tidal currents around the world that can easily match this if not more in Scotland West coast and the East cost of Canada
