The "no lycopene" customer would likely be one to ask for "no dihydrogen monoxide" in the ice cubes in her water.

If I hated that restaurant, I’d be outside “protesting” with signs saying that they intentionally put that in the ice.

Omakase is Japanese for whatever the chef wants. That dude is not only a jack___, but also wants the server to know that the customer is more educated and superior to a server. It seems that guy's a narcissist.
@TheLocomono9Күн бұрын
No the guy is a jackass. Omakase would be for sushi with lots of sauces. It was traditionally meant for those who don’t know food well and didn’t know what to get. He SPECIFICALLY an ordered a western dish that had THREE sauce choices tartar chili or ketchup none of which restaurants usually make their own. It’s like asking what wines are on the McDonald’s menu and shows a bit of ignorance but also he just learned a new word and hoped for brownie points from a stranger. Like beyond that he is a jack wad and a narcissist
@TheLocomono9Күн бұрын
For those wondering omekase is a style or sushi dining which basically means “I leave it up to you” so you take whatever goes well with the piece.

for the two sodas dilemma, the correct solution is to taste one - and then it becomes your break drink and you pour a new one for the customer.

What she did wasn't unreasonable. You now know what the other one is (not diet) and just make another diet. easy peasy. Profit margins on sodas are just rediculous. No harm no foul.
@DishaP-4562 күн бұрын
@captainwasabi Yeah, I agree to what you said. But she's been doing it for a long time. I think because she is liked by customers who look at her as an attractive girl server, she's been given some leeway maybe.

@captainwasabi2 күн бұрын
Omakasi means 'Chef's choice.' I've learned to always ask if they have MALT vinegar before ordering fish and chips. I'm about to add "do you batter the fish yourself or does it come frozen that way?" to my list of questions. That frozen crap can be soooo bad. Not the fish, the fish damn well better have been frozen unless I caught it and I'm cooking it.

It's usually just surimi, which is mainly fish and rice meal. It is sometimes flavored with real crab so it wouldn't be safe for a shellfish allergy.

Ugh! I had a manager tell me to stir sugar in the tapioca pudding because it was spoiled. Problem was that the customer ordered it to feed to her BABY! Same manager also told me to rinse off the cut fruit to get rid of the slimy mold and serve it. Needless to say I didn't work there long and the following week the health inspector came, found so many violations they immediately shut the place down. 🤔 Wonder who could've called the health inspector? 😉

That cheesecake was disgusting and should’ve been thrown out. When it comes to drinks the best way to test it is to put a straw in the drink, tap the top of the straw to get some liquid to go up into the straw and while holding your finger against the top of the straw, pull it out with the liquid still in it, and then put the end of the straw in your mouth and release your finger from the top of the straw to taste the liquid is in the straw. That way you can still check the drink and avoid putting your mouth on the glass or contaminating the drink itself. 🙄😑
