Can you do a video of literally just walking around the car, interior and exterior, just showing us in great detail? This is the best spec. Need a good in depth walkaround video

Mine is coming between July 13-19. The date went down from August-September last week. White with black interior. Excited 😊

I removed all the aero caps on one side and yes it scuff in about 3 spots for each blade but they actually buff out pretty easily and the wheels look perfect
@mikaelvellmun72283 ай бұрын
What did you use to buff them out?
@ManAndMachine232 ай бұрын
I’m going to spray some silicone lube around the tabs, let it sit for a few mins, then take the covers off. This should make the tabs slippery and easy to take off with minimal scratches. Also make sure to wash the wheels with lots of soap and water to remove any dirt and brake dust before doing so.
@justindwyer34306 күн бұрын
This plus the break jus tissue has me rethinking my order. But, assuming you are happy to destroy the covers I guess you could just drill a hole in the centre of each cover and then Dremel them in half. Should be able to then just take them off without scuffing?
@STREETFIGHTER506 ай бұрын
When we get ours I’m definitely taking the wheels off if I remove them. Looks so much better with them off. I wonder how much difference in efficiency. I’m sure someone will test it out soon😂
@Intervention3026 ай бұрын
Harder to test because these just don't pop on and off as easily as prior aero disc covers
@uclaalum885 ай бұрын
@@Intervention302since you ran 311 miles (if I recall correctly) on a charge, I suspect the aero covers are only a marginal efficiency gain - like 1% or 2%. Your thoughts?

I have a suggestion for a future video. I am trying to figure out what my next move is for tires(and/or wheels) for my 2024 Model 3 Performance. I am trying to go with All Season but I haven’t found AS EV tires to match the current sizes. I found Michelin Pilot Sport All Season but was told by 2 sources that the might not fit.

Yes !! Everyone has. This is a brutal set up. I won’t even take them off until service does it. They are terrible and they sound like their cracking when your driving . 🤦🏽♂️

I never had the crackling sound, although I've heard many have had it. I did take mine off after only a few days though

Are you gonna do PPF on it? Never had it done on any of my cars, but I see a lot of people raving about it. It’s a lot more expensive than I thought! Especially out here in Cali😢

I PPF my last model 3, and I was left thinking I wonder if it really added any value. I don't think it does.

Have you tried to put them back on? I have a lease so when I return the car, I gotta put them all back on. Are they easy to get them back on as well
@Jaxxo116 ай бұрын
Thanks for the video. Just to clarify how to properly remove these without scuffing is to use a plastic trim tool? Is that the general consensus?
@Intervention3026 ай бұрын
It's possible it's near impossible to remove without scuffing the wheel
@mikaelvellmun72283 ай бұрын
I have 3 large scruffs per aero plate removed. Uhg
@sasukesuite16 ай бұрын
So it's better to take the wheel off completely and push them off if you want to avoid all damage?
@uptoolayte14 ай бұрын
No because they're going to scuff no matter what

I wish for Tesla to creative a definitive guide for how to do so. At least share what they tell their own technicians what to do and with what tools.I'd rather take them off myself then say Costco when it comes time to replace the tires.
@Intervention3026 ай бұрын
Blades don't need to come off to change tires. I would probably preemptively remove the center cap covers before some 18 year old tech at Costco breaks it

I really dislike these wheels and wish there was another option when ordering. Any plastic on wheels looks cheap in my opinion.

The fact that the wheels scuff when removing aero blades shows poor engineering. Bad design as the wheels look much better without the blades and many are raking them off.
@jdbaker826 ай бұрын
@@visje66someone said they scratch just from being installed in the first place and moving around, if true not a fun design from the engineers
@SuppressiveSquirrel6 ай бұрын
@@jdbaker82 you can’t take off the aero blades without scuffing the wheel. Other Tesla owners have found the same thing. See Tesla Mark too.
@Intervention3026 ай бұрын
I didn't consider the fact that they could have been scratched during initial install. My gut tells me that's not the case because I would have realized that before removing them. Either way, it's still a net positive. I'll take the look of the wheels without blades , with some minor scuffs, Vs no scuffs and blades
