Excellent video Cindy! There is definitely a lot of potential using the new clear, black and white liquid Sculpey! I really loved your mandalas and the black and white mixed on the tile. Thanks for all of the new ideas. We are waiting for our supply to arrive at www.shadesofclay.com Should be here the second week in May. I'm sure your video will result in lots more inquiries.

@tomgibson75187 жыл бұрын
Cindy, Have you tried layering the clear liquid? I was wondering if you will loose clarity or will it layer well like Magic Gloss does. I haven't received my order yet but I am eager to try it as a medium for eyes.
@PolymerClayTutor7 жыл бұрын
I plan to do more experimenting, but I believe it should layer quite clearly. It is more rubbery than something like resin though

Which is matted the clear or translucent? TY
@vassilisandronikidis31407 жыл бұрын
Hi Cindy, when you bake your polymer clay you start from cold oven or you wait until the thermometer gives you the indication that your oven reached the 275 Degrees and then you bake? Vassilis from Greece
@PolymerClayTutor7 жыл бұрын
I do both. I just wait until the temperature is up before I set the timer. The only time I am careful to start with a cold oven, is when I am baking on glass and I don' t want the temperature shock to break the glass.

+PolymerClayTutor I've seen you say premo is your favorite brand. I was wondering do you like softer or harder clay? I like harder clay I find sculpey 3 to be so frustrating to work with bc it's so soft to me. I was wondering if you think premo is soft? I find it to be softer than even sculpey3 a lot of time. Fimo is def my favorite and sculpey soufle I liked but I was wondering if there are any tips you could give me to make the clay harder? And what clay you suggest to use. I have a much easier enjoyable time when the clay is hard it comes out looking way better also lot less dust and fingerprints. I have hard time even holding the piece and blending the stuff on bc just holding it lightly will change the shape or indent it or whatever when using premo or sculpey3.

would i be able to make sculpey clear COMPLETELY opaque by dyeing it with alcohol inks/chalk pastels? I know this seems counterintuitive, but i have a bunch of it and its runny viscocity is perfect for the molds it needs to fill but i need some solid colors
@PolymerClayTutor3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can make Sculpey Liquid opaque with powd3res and dyes, but you will need to play with the ratio. If you add to much powd3er the clay will bake up brittle... ask my how I know! 🙄

I have a suggestion for a video: what kind of string/wire to use when making necklaces, bracelets with polymer beads. I am stopped from moving forward by these kinds of concerns: will wire cut through the polymer clay beads when sawing back and forth with movement of the wearer? will the beads cut through the silk if i use silk to thread the beads? Heavy beads require any special care? Thank you - I'm sure you can think through many more combinations. Honestly, this is stopping me cold from using any of my beads that I made. :(

Hi...I'm sorry to bother you again but you are just so knowledgeable and I can't help myself. I am a grand new polymer clay addict. lol It advices on sculpey to bake at 275 and on liquid sculpey it says to bake at 300. If I'm using liquid sculpey to help glue like arms and legs onto sculpey figurines....what would I bake it at? Thank you so, so very much for your help!
@PolymerClayTutor4 жыл бұрын
Sculpey clear liquid will cure fine at 275F so you can use it as a glue no problem. The higher 300 temp is for when you want it crystal clear.

I see your video's stopped three years ago. Are you still helping us new PC'rs? I have a question about using liquid clay with polymer clay to get tiny details out of a resin mold. Right now the polymer clay has a hard time getting out of thin areas of the mold (.5 mm wide).
@PolymerClayTutor4 жыл бұрын
Hi there, yes I am still around. I plan to be back on KZbin soon. I am doing a weekly LIVE Q&A Broadcast on Facebook on Wed. at 12:00 NOON Pacific on our Facebook Page: facebook.com/polymerclay/ You should come check it out! In regards to your question... the reason why you can't do thin pieces with your liquid clay is because you are not baking it hot enough and it is breaking when you pull it out of the mold. Sculpey Liquid Clay loves to be baked at closer to 300F as opposed to the 275F it says on the bottle.
@coulterjb224 жыл бұрын
@@PolymerClayTutor Interesting thank you. If I use liquid clay for the small thin areas and then mash polymer clay over it (the main part) and bake at 300 the liquid will cure and hopefully the clay wont singe/discolor?

Hi i just bought the clear liquid sculpey and its so hard it won't come out the bottle , when I tried stiring it the stirrer wouldn't move it was so thick! Do you think its faulty or am I doing something wrong? P.s great videos they have been a great help!😁
@PolymerClayTutor4 жыл бұрын
The Clear Liquid Sculpey settles out if it has been sitting a while. The stuff in the bottom, is very similar to cornstarch in water and can be hard to get started with the stirring process. See if you can poke it with a chopstick or something to get it moving. Once it starts moving you can stir it easier. If there is no liquid on the top because you already started using it, you will need to add some Sculpey Clay Softener in the bottom to get it back to it's liquid state.
