I bought the most common stainless steel pendant available for laser engraving, I don't know the exact model. The S9 is engraved directly on it, which can leave a slightly yellowed black marks. The surface of the stainless steel is painted black with a marker and then engraved, which can leave very black marks.

As long as the interface of the laser head is the same, it can be replaced. The fixing plate we provide can be installed on most of the engraving machines on the market. For details, you can consult our customer service.

Hmmm can you control the Y axis of the laser head??... that is tha only option which could help cut thicker material, to raise and lower to focus distance from tha material if you take it out that you cut you will never able to put it back on the right spot. Some CO lasers can do that but only the most expensive ones...

So, to be clear I can cut thru 6mm birch plywood with no problem? The number of passes will be unknown at this point.
@Tommysbuilds4 ай бұрын
i am cutting birch plywood currently and my settings are 300 mm/s at 70% power with 8 passes. i do think you can add a pass or two to that to ensure you have 100% cut but for me it manages to cut it most times. sometime I use a knife to help a part that got stuck. 300mm/s is very slow tho. perhaps increasing the passes and do more speed might mitigate that.

Any comments I make are intended as educational and not critical. The picture of how a lens works is perfect for telescopes, microscopes, cameras etc that deal with non-coherent (uniform intensity) IMAGES. The laser beam (any wavelength) has distinct properties of coherence and a Gaussian INTENSITY distribution that sets it apart from normal light and what you imagine a lens to do is no longer true. The thing that damages material is light INTENSITY. If you have a 10 watt laser then the more you can focus the beam into a small spot the faster you will damage the material. The problem is that the most intense (damaging) part of the beam is at the center .and when you pass a laser beam through a lens, those rays that are closest to the lens axis will not refract and will pass through the lens unaffected towards infinity. Thus the most damaging part of the beam is focusing way beyond the manufacturers stated focal point . As you move further from the lens axis, the intensity of the laser beam decreases but the refraction within the lens begins to gradually concentrate the destructive intensity into a narrower focal zone. However, that focal zone will still not be the OPTICAL focal point but an INTENSITY focal point one or more millimeters beyond the manufacturer's specification. Setting the focal point into the material is VERY inefficient because the first point of contact that the beam makes with the material is much larger than the smallest (most damaging) spot size and cutting will be slow. You are running this cut 40 times to cut through 10mm material. That means on average you are penetrating only 0.25 mm per cut material and at a snail's pace of 1,7mm/s Can I suggest that you set the focus to achieve the thinnest cut line at 1.7mm/s and use that as your most efficient cutting focus. Set your cut repetition to 4 and then before proceeding with another 4 cuts drop your focus by 1mm That means that the material at the bottom of the cut will always be exposed to the most damaging (smallest) part of the beam (the intensity focus). Please understand this is not something from my imagination . I have spent hundreds of hours experimenting with lenses and various size laser beams and have huge amounts of documented evidence. Lenses and laser beams have many unexpected interactions that are outside the. boundaries of normal lens theory.. Finally different wavelengths of "light"can have dramatically different damage efficiencieson the same material. For example a 60 watt CO2 laser (10,600 nm) will cut 10mm acrylic in a single pass at about 6mm/s . So with 10 watts at 450nm let's assume a 17mm long cut. Thus at 1.7mm/s it will take 10 seconds for each pass. x 40 passes = 400 seconds to cut 10mm acrylic. With 10,600 wavelength light , it takes less than 3 seconds. OK so we are using 6 times as much power so divide 400 by six for an approximate equivalence and a 60 watt 450nm laser would take 67 seconds that is still 20 times less efficient material damage just because of the different wavelength. Best wishes to all readers and you will find so much out there to learn about this technology. Laser diodes are fun and cheap and give you a taste for what is further up the ladder when and if you have the time and money

How much continuous working time does the machine support?
@SCULPFUNReal2 жыл бұрын
The estimated usage time is 15,000 hours. However, continuous use for a long time is not recommended. Long-term continuous use, the temperature of the laser will increase, which will affect the laser output, but the impact on the use is not obvious; it is recommended to take a 15-minute break for every 4 hours of work.

Yep, main S9 unit definitely cant cut through 15mm or less wood, it provides better performance comparing Chineese ones but im quite disappointed due to not possiblity to cut through at least 10mm wood .. I tried to setup same way so 1000mm/m and 85% power also tried to focus little bit less how the calibration cylinder height is - as in a video ... using 85% it starts to get really burned edges and after approx. 15 layers or maybe less stops cutting. So do not recommend it for cutting ... quite much money wasted ... :/
