everyone's talking about the detail but the fact that the artisan kept such good track of the bigger picture and used that detail without muddying the larger forms is what really wows me

I agree with you! The most important aspect of a sculpture is a bigger picture. I think a piece without a bigger picture is like having your skin covered without bones. And the process of drawing a big picture is the most fun :)

nop, wax is less valuable than diamonds
@KnotApps
@KnotApps 9 ай бұрын
@@onetwo-gt2tr I think the wax will be used as a mould to cast metal later. Wax by itself is too fragile to be worn as a ring. So depending on the metal used as well as the gemstone used, its value will be higher than diamond on a metal torus.

I sculpt miniatures in epoxy putty. I have always wanted to try to figure out how to use wax for this process and thsi video intrigues me to no end. I am DYING to know what tools these are that you are using. Specifically the fine point hot tools that you are using at 3:55 -through 4:09. It appears to be two different sizes of tool but I cannot figure out if these tools are feeding the wax through the tool or if you are picking up the wax on these tools and feeding it off onto the cooler wax or if you are melting the surface of the cooler wax and the shape of the tool is helping to build that melted wax into a linear form. This is all SO impressive!
