Great result. Not sure if somebody cleared this up in the comments already but, Dynotopo and Multires don't fit in the same workflow. Both are a way of getting more geometry but dynotopo turns everything into tris and multires relies on a basemesh with clean topology because multires relies on subdivisions. Multires is initially less freeing because it requires poly modeling in the beginning, but can save you the work later that comes with retopology.

To quickly apply a subdivision modifier, you can select the mesh, then press Ctrl+A number on the top row, 1,2,3,4 or 5. To get rid of the faceted look, in Object mode, right click on the model and select shade smooth. To apply a modifier, you can use the drop down tab, or use the hotkey while hovering the mouse over the modifier, Ctrl+A or Shift+D to duplicate it. Same hot keys are used in the viewport to apply transforms, or to duplicate a mesh. The way I learned Blender was to find people on youtube usually that know what they are doing, and copy them. Maybe I'll watch the video in fast forward to find what I'm looking for and in that way save time. This way I can learn about the faster and hidden ways of doing things also like the hot keys or different tricks. If I have any question, I Google it, since there probably isn't a problem that someone hasn't figured out how to solve already.

Maybe it's a little late but you can resize the brush panel so you can see the names of the brushes - they are pretty self explanatory. Also many actions by right clicking can be added to quick favorites with an (Q -> Number) to access. Each quck favorite set is stored in a type of workspace(those tabs Sculpting, Shading, etc) one for Layout, one for Modeling etc. But you can reuse those that you don't need (like videoediting) - Click on a + near the tab, select the type you won't need, rearrage that workspace for specific sculpting purposes or whatever and have a separate set of quick favorites. You can easily switch between these workspaces.

dyntopo is similar to sculptris pro mode in zbrush. And yeah, you do need to apply the modifier in order to use it the multiresolution modifier is comparable to zbrush's subdivision levels, where it allows you to go up and down in subdivision levels. You can't use both that and dyntopo at the same time and for a dynamesh "equivalent", you can use Ctrl+R to voxel remesh, and to set the resolution of the remesh you can use Shift+R you can also try the other remeshing method, quadriflow, which tries to follow the shape of the object, but it's WAYY inferior to zremesher, it's not even comparable imo. And it crashes blender a lot of the time in my experience some brushes don't work with dyntopo, and instead only use the geometry you currently have *TIP* : you can type in a strength value higher than what the slider allows you to go

Hi, I've been using Blender sculpt for some time and I would like to give you some tips to kinda improve the workflow. So first, with the same default cube, hit Ctrl + 4 to add a subdivision with a level of 4, apply it. Then enter to Sculpt mode Now with the grab brush or Snake hook make some deformations (with Shift+F you can adjust the strenght of the brush). Press Shift+R, you will have a HUD or UI showing the resolution of the voxel remesh, adjust the number dragging to the mouse left or right: the lower the number, the higher the density of the mesh, more faces. Try with 0.0800 or so. Then left click and hit Ctrl+R and you will apply the remesh, you can do it whenever you want and decrease the number for more details when you feel necessary; in this way you will avoid adding more subdivisions modifiers through the process. If you want in the overlay menu, in the top right of the viewport, you can activate the statistics to be able to watch the numbre of verts and faces or in the bottom bar, where you can see the version you're using press right-click to enable the Scene statistics. Also you can use Face sets, similar to polygroups. Just pick the Face sets brush and create them by "painting" on the mesh, you can expand a face sets holding Ctrl, otherwise you'll create another on top. You can smooth them by pressing Shift. With Face Sets if you put the cursor over any face set with H you can isolate it; Shift+H: to hide them. Alt+H: to make them visible. Shift+W: to create a face set. Most of the brushes let you work just in the face set, you have to check the box in the bursh setting in Auto-masking And the last thing if you use Remesh and Face sets, in the remesh menu (next to dyntopo) you can check the box to preserve Face sets or even masks. Also if you activate de pie menus addon, by pressing W you can have a pie menu for brushes. And I recommend you to try the Mesh Filter, I hope this be useful, and you keep experimentig and practicing with the sculpt branch. Thanks for these videos and such a nice piece you did :)

The main problem I see with Sculpting in blender, is that it can't subdivide as high as Zbrush. You start to lag hard like 4 subdivisions lower than you would in Zbrush, but I hear there's an update coming to alleviate that issue. Still Blender is pretty great for what it can do so far, it's kind of crazy.

I have been using blender for years, it is a very powerful tool, but I recommend starting with zbrush core mini, it has everything you need to start sculpting and it is free :D. 3DCoat is also a very powerful tool, but it is expensive, not as much as mari pd: Thanks for your videos :D

After all that subdivision an multi resolution modifiers the model os too high poly this can be fixed by quad remesh in blender which is just like zremesh in z brush this will be the wise choice cause blender is not capable of handling high poly count like z brush

Once I use Dyntopo, I can't really, it basically become dynamesh, so after sculpting, have to retopo and reproject.
