I received many questions about the sculpting process. This is why I decided to create a series of videos describing the process of sculpting miniatures.
And today we will be talking about the basic steps and tools you need, to start.

If you will need info about where to buy a tool - I think that because of the pandemic situation it will be better to support your local hobby stores. They need your help!
But you can always write me a message if you will need some help :).

I've always wanted to start a business sculpting figures for players characters, larger than standard minis, say 3" tall for halflings, 4" for dwarves, 5-6" for elves and humans etc. People could put them on display as they play different characters throughout the years.

It seems to me that looking in the cosmetic department of a store you could find a lot of unexpected sculpting tools. I love manicures. There are plenty of small brushes, files, and other implements that can be used. A small fine to course gritt nail file, dotting tool, and other items can be multi purpose. Look for nail art and nail sculpting stuff. They are small and sometimes less expensive than art supplies.

Hello :) can you help me with a doubt? I want to sculp medium sized monster figures (like 4-5 cm, 1.5-2 inches); then make them into silicon molds and the make resin copies. I would like them to be detailed and it would be nice to be able to sand them (once harden) to make them real smooth.... ive been told sculptey III; premo or the epoxi green stuff are the best options... i need some feedback please tell me your opinion. THANKS
@paweljakubgorecki
@paweljakubgorecki 2 жыл бұрын
I like monsters! :D. You will not need to sand them if you will sculpt the smooth surfaces. You can use water for Green Stuff, or a soft brusher for Fimo or Sculpey. I do not know why you want to use sandpaper, so It is hard to suggest something. Could you give more info?
