It’s a bit easy and hard at the a same time it depends on what breed your sculpting like a chihuahua and shih tzus are quite easy to sculpt for me I post some clay creations in my channel some of them are hard to make or really simple, and it’s also what dog you make a simple and easy one with not a lot of details only things that can make you tell it’s a dog or things like this amazing German Shepard that he made which is hard and but astonishing.

Can you make this dog out of polymer clay? That’s what I’m going to use - also amazing work love it!!

What's the wire hoop tool called you used for the fur called please? The ones that look like a spring?
@GraceNoteForge2 жыл бұрын
Those are homemade sculpting tools made from old guitar strings. The small ridges on the string work great for raking over the surface of the sculpt to help even it out. 🙂

Great keep it up My l ask you question my clay color is grey is Good for sculpting and how do l warm it up
@GraceNoteForge4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I normally heat mine up in the microwave for a few seconds at a time until the clay is soft, but this only works with monster clay because it's an oil/wax based clay.

@@GraceNoteForge ah thanks because my clay is as hard as rock it worked

Beautiful work! Are you going to make a mold of the dog?
@GraceNoteForge4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I'm considering making a mold of it but haven't done anything with it yet. It might make a good wall mount to hold his leash come to think of it 😁

Beautiful sculpture. Can I see some Sculpture geek influence? That’s a compliment :) Also what is the table clamp / mount / stand / please?
@GraceNoteForge4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I wish my videos were as good as his lol That is a table ball joint vise that I modified to hold a piece of acrylic board. I like using it for holding sculptures because I can change the position of the piece to work on hard to reach area's.

Did you the bake it and then carve afterwards?
@GraceNoteForge3 жыл бұрын
Normally I put the monster clay in the microwave for a 30 seconds at a time until it became soft and easy to form. When the clay cools back down, it becomes much more firm and can take detail much better.
@marie-charlotteporter43353 жыл бұрын
Would that work on polymer clay?
@GraceNoteForge3 жыл бұрын
@@marie-charlotteporter4335 I don't believe so. I don't use polymer clay but I think it is plastic based, so I wouldn't heat it in the microwave. Monster clay is wax based so heat will make it softer. I think polymer clay cures with heat.
