I've been watching your videos for years and I want to say THANK YOU. You were the first I've seen to really dive deep into Event Photography. I want to do more lifestyle type stuff but Event Photography is currently my strongest suit. I think because it's not as stressful and more journalistic if anything.

Dear Mik, I watch your videos and then I put it in practice and my event photography has been improving. Once I hit a new wall, I come here and get not only educated by an experienced and generous photographer but also, inspired and motivated to keep going.

How did it go?

@@MikMilman it got better as I was doing it. The first person I talked to was a retired wedding photographer. Confirmed my settings for the environment and away I went. Assisted a department headshot today and got asked to help on the next 2 next week.

Thanks! If you can answer a quick question? With available light stuff, ESPECIALLY when the subject is in shadows with a bright sunny backdrop, do you personally shoot for the subject and let the shadows come up naturally, so the person looks good, and allowing the background highlights to blow out, or do you expose for the overall scene, keeping highlights under control but letting shadows/faces dark and recovering the shadows back in "post processing"? The reason I ask is one version, letting those unimportant highlights bloom, is fast for the clients (and me) and lets me use the SOOC jpegs, while the second version, keeping highlights under control, results in much more post process editing. Also, I'm curious if you have an assistant do your culls and edits? I'm a one man show and unfortunately spend a lot of time at the computer. Thus, my questions about thoughts on mixed lighting exposures and how it relates to workflow/output.

I favor exposing for my subject matter, with consideration for how I will process the image later. At this point, for every image I take, there's some subconscious thought to what it will require in post.

Hi mik , I recently has a photoshoot after which I noticed a dark spot on some photos ...is there somthing dust particle in my camera sensor or lense ?
@MikMilman11 ай бұрын
If it's in the same location in each image, it's likely dust.

Hi Mik! Are you on a social media vacation? No Instagram and KZbin in last two months 😢 Hope all is well with you
@MikMilman Жыл бұрын
Social media is a big chore for me. It actually takes discipline for me to post regularly. But as we approach the end of the year I might use some of my free time to prep images for social posts. As far as youtube goes, it's a time issue. It's been a record busy year for me. I'm doing well! Thanks for asking.

If you're on a budget, I think a godox v1c is a very viable option.

Also why are you wearing a light colored shirt shooting the google event? You are supposed to be "unseen"
@MikMilman5 ай бұрын
Yes I am. And yet, one note of feedback I get is how unnoticed I go, which is just in part why they have shared with me that I am their preferred photographer. In my opinion, wearing black has an overrated impact on how visible you are to others. I feel its much, much more important to dress appropriately and fit in.
@A10Jedi Жыл бұрын
the rooms are too big for you to be trying to bounce the flash. Just take the flash off instead of setting it off for no reason at all.
