@@ManzaiCH there's a lot of disputes as to where doubles and triples start. Maynard called the first octave above C two ledger lines above the staff "high" the other octave became the "doubles". However, Cat called the octave above the C of two ledger lines "doubles" and the octave above that "triples." It's a pedagogy discrepancy. It's kinda like enharmonics without the theory.

I call notes based on what note it is for a trumpet. As in, we have a low G, and a middle G/tuning G, so the next G would be a high G. Then a double G and so on. So this way would make the changes start at F#s So to me, that's a double E
@CarlosHernandez-el4oc5 жыл бұрын
It's an E7. You an call a double E if you think a middle C is a C4 and not a piano middle C3.

I know I'm three years late lol, but If you are talking about the double/triple E that Michael hits, I'd assume that it was written in as part of the show considering that the original Peter Gabriel cover of "My Body is a Cage" (the song they play in the ballad) features the main vocalist hitting a similar high note and hanging over after everyone else has stopped playing. That's my assumption at least.

When you use the term double to describe the trumpet octave, you are referring to anything above double F# (which we have simplified to being double G for some reason) making what he played a double E not a triple E
@samoates57675 жыл бұрын
Remember, double notes on trumpet, due to it’s range, have 3 octaves below them, the E he played only has 2 real octaves below it on the trumpet
@i_cam5 жыл бұрын
Idk every one defines it differently so it’s hard
@hsreed42 жыл бұрын
The lowest regular note on trumpet is a low F#. By this measure, the last low (F first space on staff), middle, high, and double is the F. F# would be the first low, middle, high, double, triple, etc. Another definition is designating low C1 (line below staff) as the beginning, C2 in the staff is Middle C, C3 two lines above the staff is high C, next is double C4. That would make notes below C1 noted a B0, and so on. This is how it is measured on piano and universally measured. Many very good lead players I know accept double starts the C two octaves aboce C in the middle of the staff. A synonym for Double is Super. Another way to view it is G3, one octave above the top staff G2, isn't that special of a noter, not a super G, but the C above that note is definitely Super. By every measure reasonable measure, he hits a Double E, Super E.

drew 2442 it’s called a berp or mouthpiece holder. It’s so you can do mouthpiece exercises without having to put the Horn to the side
@notanedgysnipermain49772 жыл бұрын
It's a mouthpiece berp, a thing you put your mouthpiece into while holding the actual trumpet to better emulate the feel of playing while buzzing. You can also control the resistance it has
