What first amazed me about the Omega on a 20" .308 was it was quieter than a 22 LR supersonic. It is really amazing.

I did a side-by-side with my Thunderbeast Ultra 9 .264 bore on my Sig Cross 6.5 versus my Bergara B14R 18” 22LR and it really did sound the same! I think maybe the sonic crack on the 6.5 Creedmoor was a tiny bit louder because of pressures of a heavier bullet, but I’m not sure. 22LR really has all the bang gone by time it reaches the end of the barrel and is only giving out sonic crack. It’s amazing what good silencers can do.

Now that I have a Tactacam, I need to get back to the 435 yard quarry I’ve been to before or even further to show the ACSS HUD reticle and it’s capabilities for sure! I want to bring this Cross 308 with the ACSS HUD DMR 3-18, Remington 700 SPS Tactical 16” 308 with 6-24 ACSS HUD DMR and my Adams Arms P2 308 with 6-24 ACSS HUD DMR

How do you like the anchor break on the omega
@RangeToyz
@RangeToyz 2 ай бұрын
When it was on my PTR 91, I used it for quite awhile. The gun is so heavy though with a bipod, I decided to get the Bravo front cap. There wasn’t too much change in recoil and I really enjoy the shorter length. I’m using the Omega 300 on the Ruger American Ranch in 7.62x39 right now and like the short Bravo front cap more than any felt recoil reduction with the Anchor brake. Shooting prone on the lightweight 308 Cross, it did help to not have the scope hit my hat from recoil when firing. I’m definitely keeping that single port anchor brake on the Scythe because it’s so short. I think it does a little something for recoil and it’s actually lighter weight than the Bravo flat cap.

Awesome comparison. Id be interested to see how the scythe ti compared to the nomad ti and enticer s ti. Or any other titanium ~30cal cans in a similar size range
@RangeToyz
@RangeToyz Ай бұрын
Thanks! I just looked at Pew Science and the Enticer S Ti is rated barely better than the Nomad Ti. Might not be able to hear the difference or notice the back pressure difference. The Scythe isn’t on there yet, but I’m curious too. You can see other ones as well in the big list. It’s longer with the most recent reviews.

Nice! Good choice in comparison! Is the biggest difference lighter and shorter?
@RangeToyz
@RangeToyz 2 ай бұрын
The Scythe with single port anchor brake is about the same size as the Omega 300 with Bravo front cap when they both are direct thread, but the Scythe is almost half the weight. The Scythe is best for a light firing schedule. It gets hot quick and you might’ve seen the mirage in the Tactacam, but cools down quick.

I’ll be running my Omega 300 binary on my PWS MK109 MOD2-M 300 blackout and I think it will handle it just fine. I won’t dump more than two mags at once with supersonic ammo, to make sure I won’t bubble or discolor the paint.

My scythe TI was approved in 2 months time and I'm going to run it on a 9" 300 BLK Virtus shooting mostly subs with an occasional mag of supers. I've heard it sounds great with 300blk subs. Watching your video, it was hard to tell any difference between the standard omega 300 which I also have. The Omega 300 has also been goldilocks for sound, weight, and durability on many gas guns for me for many years
@RangeToyz
@RangeToyz 2 ай бұрын
Right on! Yeah, all three cans, including the Chimera, have Omega baffles, so I think the sound and back pressure are basically the same. If you’re going mellow with supers on your 300 blackout, you’ve got a ssh feather on the end of your gun ;)

I’ve got the original Saker 7.62 on my 300 blackout right now. The Omega 300 is shorter, lighter and quieter. I’ve got a binary trigger in it as well, but I think I’ll be dumping one or two mags at once :)

SilencerCo’s website shows the decibel difference is less than one decibel on a .308 or 300 blackout and barely more on a 5.55 or 300 win mag. The Omega is a fantastic design. I wouldn’t put mine on the shelf to have a new 3D printed suppressor of equal size.
@OsamaBinSmokinTV
@OsamaBinSmokinTV Ай бұрын
@RangeToyz yes and with the Scythe-Ti being made of titanium, larger diameter, and a single 5 port brake, you would think it would be much quieter. But they hit the grand slam with the Omega years ago with its release.

@OsamaBinSmokinTV the omega is more versatile, has lower tone and less first round pop than the scythe. The omega will handle semi auto the scythe will not

Three oh hate doesn’t have bad recall, he says 🙃 On the American Ranch 7.62x39 subs, the Scythe sounded like it had a shorter blow down. More of a quick pop - maybe the same or close peak “loudness.” If my BOGO Omega 300 ever ships, I want to compare it against my Enticer S!

can it be cleaned at home?
@RangeToyz
@RangeToyz 10 күн бұрын
Really, rifle suppressors don’t need to be cleaned because the pressure of the rounds push out almost all of the carbon and fouling. A little bit of material in your suppressor will cause extra turbulence and actually make it quieter. If you notice with a scale that your suppressor is a few ounces heavier than when you got it, and that could be after thousands of rounds, there are some special solutions you can use. Breakthrough Clean Technology Suppressor Cleaner and HUXWRX Suppressor Sauce are two that I’ve heard of. They are both two-part solutions that you let your suppressor soak in. I wouldn’t use an ultrasonic cleaner, just these methods I spoke of because an ultrasonic cleaner will ruin the finish on the outside of your suppressor maybe not the first time, but definitely after two or three times.
@RangeToyz
@RangeToyz 10 күн бұрын
I’ve never cleaned any of my rifle suppressors, but I did clean my Octane 9 suppressor because I ran a bunch of 22LR through it. I also have to clean my MP5SD suppressor with it’s aluminum K baffles so the don’t get stuck in the tube and the suppressor doesn’t get stuck on the gun. I use welding anti spatter spray for it and try to do it every 300-500 rounds. 22 suppressors are the filthiest with its leaded ammo that’s sometimes waxed plus the carbon deposits.
