New Toyota RAV4 Multimedia System & Digital Cockpit 2024

I just bought a Toyota RAV4-Hybrid 2024 (15 miles on it) and had a problem as soon as I left the dealer. I can't connect Apple Carplay to it. It always shows " Apple car connection error". I took it to 2 different Toyota Dealers for repair and they all gave me the same answer that many Toyota Rav-4 2024 Hybrid have this problem and they could not fix it even if they replaced the radio head with a new one. They are waiting for an answer from Toyota company. I wonder if anyone is having the same problem as me? if yes (how to fix it). Thanks.

On my car (a VW Golf) you only see directions/map if you’ve set a route, otherwise it shows a compass similar to the one shown here, so maybe the Toyota system works the same way as VW in that regard?

Is there a rewind option for the radio? Toyota's in the past gave you the option to rewind songs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It is there on the right or left pane, just when you do not have a destination selected it shows compass, but when you select a destination, it shows a next turn guide etc.

⁠@@piotradacha9571My new 2024 Toyota Dynamic Navigation is absolutely shocking. My 2022 was brilliant. It’s stuck in night aerial mode and not showing multi lanes properly and so many mistakes in directions. It’s unbelievably bad. A saving grace is the 360, front and back images are crystal clear and no ounce of fuzziness. So yes, going reverse is a breeze now. I could write a lot more. The guy doing this review is hell of a nice guy and I understand he’s gonna say the positives. He’s a wonderful reviewer to be fare. Any way I’m gonna take it to another dealer and see if Toyota can download another internal navigation system. My other info screen did a million times more. Backwards step Toyota. Cheers.

How do you change the Clock on the gauge cluster - not the touch screen display - mine is an hour off for daylight savings

You have to change it on the touch screen display. Go to settings and turn on/off daylight savings. The touch screen display time should be correct because it is connected to your phone so if you change it on there it will change the clock behind the wheel.

In my it says it is based on HERE maps, works well however, with TMC it even takes traffic into account. Usually I use Waze with Android Auto, but the presentation of details and guidance I find better in the built-in navi

Corolla Cross has TSS 3.0, could it be the reason for not seeing the map on the cockpit?

True - map on the cockpit is visible during drive if I am using Toyota navigation. It is not visible if I use apple car.

Have a 2024 RAV4 XLE 8 inch screen and it does not have a lot of these functions. Plus the sound system is not that good sounding. No really good plug and play amp upgrades out yet. Stero shop recommend not cutting wires because it will void the warranty. Checked price at dealer just for the radio. list is $7500 for a new unit if something goes wrong with an upgrade voiding the warranty.

The Fully Digital Cockpit is a expensive thing that could fail. This is also a distraction when Driving. I should be aware of what is going on around me. Not focused on customizing the Digital Screens. The same can be said for the Infotainment Screen / System. Can I have an option with out the Infotainment system.

I really do like and respect Toyota vehicles, but it is a shame that in some Europe countries you have to pay extra for navigation, which is btw bullshit, it is mostly non-usable. It costs around 1200 euros. They should really include navigation feature by default for this car which isn't cheap at all. They also should integrate navigation between two circles in front display just like other manufactures do. Everything else is just perfect on Toyotas.
