Each new Focus variant benefits from unique design details, with upper grille and fascia designs reflecting distinct personalities and creating greater differentiation across the range. Connected and Titanium series feature a wide upper grille with a gloss chrome surround, distinguished by its strong horizontal bars and matched by upturning side vents that flow from the lower grille. In addition, Titanium series features a hot-stamped chrome finish to the upper grille bars.
The Ford Performance-inspired ST-Line variant’s sportier character is delivered using a uniquely proportioned trapezoidal upper grille, supported by a gloss black honeycomb finish alongside broader side vents and a deeper lower grille. ST-Line variants also feature side skirts, a rear diffuser and a discreet rear spoiler.
The adventurous Active variant takes inspiration from SUV design cues for a more rugged appearance. A wider upper grille features more substantial vertical strakes, and a deeper lower grille and taller side vents complement the raised ride height and black body cladding.
More Focus drivers will be able to benefit from the enhanced fuel efficiency and performance of new Focus’ EcoBoost Hybrid engines following the introduction of a seven-speed Powershift automatic transmission option, with WLTP fuel efficiency from 5.2 l/100 km and CO2 emissions from 117 g/km. 1
In addition to a less-demanding two-pedal driving experience, the dual-clutch Powershift transmission delivers seamless acceleration and smooth, fast gear changes, with triple downshifts for responsive overtaking. In Sport Drive Mode, the automatic gearbox holds lower gears for sportier responses, and the transmission also offers manual gear selection, with sporty paddle-shifters as standard on ST‑Line variants.
The Powershift automatic also supports fuel-saving by keeping the hybrid engine at the optimum rpm for efficiency, and by allowing rolling Auto Start-Stop to operate below 12 km/h (7 mph).
Available with 125 PS and 155 PS power outputs, the new Focus’ 48-volt mild hybrid 1.0-litre EcoBoost Hybrid powertrain is also available with a six-speed manual gearbox, with WLTP fuel efficiency from 5.1 l/100 km and CO2 emissions from 115 g/km. The hybrid powertrain replaces the standard alternator with a belt-driven integrated starter/generator (BISG), enabling energy normally lost during braking to be recovered and stored in a dedicated lithium-ion battery pack. The BISG is also able to act as a motor, providing torque assistance to either increase the total torque available from the powertrain for more responsive in-gear acceleration, or reduce the amount of work required by the engine for improved fuel efficiency.
The new Focus also offers Ford’s 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine with 100 PS and 125 PS power outputs and a six-speed manual gearbox, and from 5.1 l/100 km fuel efficiency and 116 g/km CO2 WLTP. Features including Twin-independent Variable Cam Timing and high-pressure direct injection contribute to overall efficiency and responsive performance.
For higher mileage drivers, Ford’s 1.5-litre EcoBlue diesel engine is available with 95 PS and 120 PS power outputs, with fuel efficiency from 4.0 l/100 km and 106 g/km CO2 WLTP. Both versions are offered with a six-speed manual transmission, and feature an integrated intake manifold, low-inertia turbocharger and high-pressure fuel injection to reduce emissions and increase combustion efficiency. An eight-speed automatic transmission is also offered for the 120 PS variant.

Why? The buttons are always on, instead of pressing once little bit lower, you press also once little bit higher. If anything, you need to look away from the road a fraction less.
@razvan3228
@razvan3228 2 жыл бұрын
@@orbis051 thats EXACTLY why they are bad...because you have to look away from the road...on physical buttons they usually have klicks...so you can feel them basically, and you dont have to move your eyes away. Also on other buttons they have haptic feedback, so again, you can feel them. On screen buttons you only have maybe the klicking sound feedback (in case you leave that setting in the menu)...but think of what happens when you overrev the engine, or listen to music...you dont hear anything. So...people ar not saying that screen integrated buttons is bad...very baad without a reason :)

I was telling a friend today that I’d been for a test drive in one today and said just how shocked I was for a 1.0 litre and how it took off and how well it drove and straight away he said keep clear as the engine will blow if thrashed! I’m a 53 yr old bloke who’s days of thrashing cars are well behind me. He has a 2013 ST 2.0 litre estate and says it won’t touch his in performance and said his will leave it standing. Now I haven’t driven the 2.0 but this thing was quick today and was very impressed. Im really teetering on the edge now and I’m going for another test drive on Friday and then we’ll see if I do sign along the dotted line. 🤔🤔🤫

It doesn't have timing chain/gear, it is a timing belt on the I-3 1.0L. The 2.0L has timing chain, a much more robust design. The smaller motor doesn't need to be thrashed to fail. It is not a good design even for light duty use. Your friend is right.

Thank you so much for the reviews on the focus sw estate and if I’ve watched them once I’ve watched them ten times! I’ve been to the dealership today and put the order in for the Vignale st line. I was totally speechless after taking one out for a test drive today, the 1.0 litre engine at 125 bhp just absolutely took off and kept on going until the nerves got the better of me. It’s the car that gives you that grin that doesn’t leave until your out of the car, it really is a nice car and I’ve opted for the desert island blue. But the sad thing is I’m going to have to wait until July before they are next due in stock, but I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait. Again my friend thanks for the in-depth videos they were really helpful.

Good review as usually. But I have some sugestions to you. This particular car has only 20 km on the odometer, so that's better to stay under 3000 revs and light foot on the pedal. It's also good to read specific car equipment. This one for example doesn't have active cruise control, but regular one. Also the LKA comes as standard but it could be equiped with active LKA as an extra. Focus is stil great car even with bigger tablet :D I prefer standard radio with bluetooth on the previous in the 2018-2021 Focus. Good review overall.

@@FefyGT politics? yes I've heard, but have YOU read automotive history, and that electric motor vehicles went from being the top sellers in the US market in 1900 to being totally out of business by 1910, because gas engines were clearly the winner in the minds of car buyers? This will reoccur in the world about a decade from now, after enough people realize they've been told a story full of baloney about EV's. They are just as inconvenient in use today as they were in 1900, but not enough people know it yet. But fairly soon, people talking to each other will uncover the real truth about EV's inconvenience, take notice of the even larger environmental impact of getting rid of millions of spent batteries piling up everywhere will become more evident, and all the politicians forcing EV's down consumer's throats will have to give up on their "dream", or they won't even be elected dog catcher. I'm old enough too, to know there isn't climate change btw, there is only climate variability, variability that has been present since the beginning of time on Earth, and NOTHING, not even going 100% renewables will change that law of nature. All this "change" will have been for nothing, lining the pockets of a small group of elites pushing it on people.

Hey great news, just had a call from the dealership to say that my new focus st Vignale estate is on its way and I should have my keys by the end of the month. It’s currently on a ship making its way to the U.K. If you remember I ordered it back in March and originally I was told that collection would be June then I had a call to say due to the war in Ukraine parts that were made there were now difficult to source like the chips and other parts that were made there. Then June arrived and John the salesman again phoned to inform me that he’d had an email from ford to say that again due to the difficulties it was now going to be at least September and I just had to accept the fact that the car will arrive when it arrives and that there were much worse off people in the world especially the people of Ukraine who for some have lost everything and my thoughts are with them at this very difficult and unpredictable time.

@rayrussell6258
@rayrussell6258 2 жыл бұрын
@@raduandreibuzoianu4211 I'm actually a retired automotive engineer, Radu. No, the 4-cylinder ecoboost is NOT ditched (although the Focus as a carline might take a hiatus), in fact the 2.0L Ecoboost 4-cylinder is a high percentage of sales on the new Maverick pickup. Not going away for a long time. I know that irks mush-brain green fans, but it's a fact. The 1.0L 3-cylinder ecoboost has been a major failure at meeting performance and durability/reliability targets. It is overworked in every application it is used in, and it can't get out of its own way. The 4-cylinder engine, on the other hand, is as satisfying on the road as anything offered by ANY manufacturer. I have it in 2 of my vehicles, a Lincoln MKZ and a Ford Edge. No issues whatsoever in performance, and not one trip for repair in 60K miles so far. You REALLY don't know your auto powertrains very well. The EV complaint factor, unknown right now because too few have actually lived with an electric powertrain and its shortcomings, limitations and inconvenience, will go through the roof within a decade, and people will be begging for their gas engines back. Just like happened a hundred years ago in the US, when electrics were the top market sellers in 1900, but by 1910 they all went out of business because gas engines were the clearly better powertrain. And most people are not aware of that historical fact, or they could avoid the frustrations they are about to endure due to that ignorance.

@@rayrussell6258 I was talking about this vehicle in particular, or class C or below, cars that you'll often see on the EU market. Ford also has V6's but you wont find them fitted in Focus or Fiesta. This engine is made especially for these kind of cars, cheap and light. How is the 1.0 liter a failure in targets if its been sold for 10 years now? Nobody said its perfect nor issue free but the engine has been in the market for a long time to be called "a failure". Don't get me wrong, I don't like it either but it does the job well considering the regulations and requirements for today's vehicles. I drive a 4 cyl engine too btw.

Rating 9.8 so the only reason to rate this car highly is to understand what zero means. i'm guessing walking in leaky ill fitting boots while having a broken leg so on crutches as well. so rating 1 would be walking with leaky boots not with a broken leg. rating 2 walking with boots that don't leak and having a coat to keep warm. Using this relative experience the 9.8 makes sense,
