this moment gave me chills the whole game he was so self deprecating and was completely convinced that talentless people like him could never achieve anything great, it really shows how he truly thought he was a martyr for hope. It's even funnier that his scheme to kill the remnants of despair would've played right into junko's hands, giving them their bodies so she could take over the world. This also further shows how he is a twisted version of Makoto. In dr1, Makoto was deemed the title of Ultimate Hope by the other students (and rightfully earned it), but here Nagito is demanding it despite his actions pretty much working against hope, despite his intentions.
