Sea Fishing South Wales
In this video, I do a spot of fishing on the lower tidal stretch of the River Usk, which flows in to the Severn Estuary, in to the main Bristol Channel. I have dedicated this one to my Dad as it was his favorite fishing spot...many memories and some really enjoyable sessions.
Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching!
Gareth

Hi Rich, thanks for the comment. Yes I'm with you 100 percent there, nature can often come to the rescue when the mind is struggling a little. I'm always at my best when I'm next to the water, being at one with the surroundings and wildlife just has a calming effect and makes the bigger worries seem insignificant. Modern day life is not easy at times and we're all expected to keep going and be positive but at the end of the day, we're only human and sometimes just need some time out. Like you, I suffer with a bit of anxiety, I over think things and worry too much, always been the same, not a pleasant thing. Cheers for watching mate and tight lines 👍👍🎣

@@riversidewithme Hi Gareth Thanks for the reply, much appreciated 👍 I'm sorry to hear you suffer with anxiety, it's reassuring that I'm not alone. Like you, my main issue is over thinking and over analysing things,at its worse it can be suffocating!! I'm not ashamed to admit I need medication, suffered in silence for many years, then finally sought professional help. Best thing I did! Anyone else reading this, that has similar issues, if you've not sort professional help, I highly recommend it, there is no shame. I'm happy to say that on the whole I have it under control, and pretty much,lead a full active life. Talking about it plays an essential role in coping with it. Tight lines enjoy your fishing, enjoy and respect nature. Cheers mate Rich

@riversidewithme
@riversidewithme 3 жыл бұрын
@Fish Face Firstly, I would only fish it on a tide of 10.3m or less, which in old money is 12m. Anything bigger and the current can be a little strong but it's ideal for smaller tides. You can park on Stephenson Street, anywhere along there is fine. Then just walk past the dogs home, take a left through the gate onto the coastal path (next to the bridge itself) and you can fish anywhere along there. I wouldn't fish right next to the bridge as a little snaggy but anywhere from 80 yards onwards is fine along there.

@riversidewithme 3 жыл бұрын
I always use a 6oz gripper and that seems to do the job. No need to cast far and as the tide is coming in, cast to your left slightly. In my experience, fishes best as the water is coming in up to high water but you never know. Hope you catch a few! Gareth
