Thanks for showing the rock formations. The clouds hanging mystically above the cliffs. Loved the white houses in the wee settlement. Great trip, nice light showing through the clouds toward the end.

Hi Steven, thanks again for your comments and pleased you enjoyed joining us on the trip. It a great area and a fantastic setting off point for some amazing multi-day trips/expeditions. I'm still in the process of editing our 5 day trip out from Easdale down the West side of Jura at the start of March in crazy strong winds, so watch this space!! Thanks Again👍

Thanks again Andy, I hope the extra history info filled in the blanks about the bridge under Cromwells rule. Keep going there's plenty more to enjoy, I need to go back and redo quite a lot...great footage but could do with better music and decent narrative to explain the areas and paddle rationale. Thanks Again

That was lovely Geoff. Talk about uncanny: in the post yesterday came my copy of"Sea Kayaking Map to West of Scotland" from a shop I love, Sea Kayak Oban... and then I found this video! Truly enjoyable and held a lot of meaning for me. I can't thank you enough. +++++ For content!! Pam

Just lovely comments and complements Pam 💕 thanks so much. Sounds like you're enjoy your kayaking as much as I do 😃👍 Lots more goodies on here for you to discover. A bit further afield, but take a look at some of our spectacular kayaking from a 14 day trip to Shetland last August...stunning!! and lots to watch in the series. 😂😂😜

Extremely enjoyable video as usual Geoff. Great to see you and your paddling buddy ignored the overcast conditions and set off on what was a great day out. Any day on the water is a great day. I note that you really enjoy some speed when conditions provide some nice runners. I have had sails on my kayaks for quite a few years now and love the thrill of downwind runs and the speed with a nice reach. Have you considered the paddle sailing option ? Douglas Wilcox comes to mind. Also, I note that you are using a carbon fibre Mitchell Blade paddle. My wife and I have been using these paddles for 10 years now and found them light, strong as, and reliable. Cannot fault them. Stay safe....Peter

Hi Peter, thanks again, yes a great day as it turned out, as you say its just good to be out on the water. I started sea kayaking through surfing many yeas ago and the thrill of catching a wave has never left me but I've never tried kayak sailing probably from my point of view that water and ropes etc don't mix very well 😂 but I have to agree it looks great fun! I used a Werner Ikilos for quite a few years which developed the 'werner knock' from wear on the joint ferrule but snapped half a blade off clipping a rock while powering through a gulley. However I suspect it had been weakened from some previous compression damage while exiting the boat old school style. I love the Mitchell Bomborra Blade, with the new heavily cranked and ovaled shaft, it gives perfect "grip indexing" so you know exactly where the blade angle is despite me getting the odd blister or two, great smooth entry and exit from the water and loads of power when required... I love it !! I'll have another couple of edits coming up soon and hopefully trying to get a memorable multi day trip in some classic location before my spinal surgery on April 26th followed by a possible lengthy rehab 🙄🙄 I'm aiming to be back on form for mid summer so long as everything goes OK and I behave myself 😂😂👍 Stay in touch and stay safe... Regards Geoff

@@geoffburke Tnanks for your reply Geoff. Our Mitchell paddles are also the Bomborra , but straight shaft. My current on boat spare is a cranked Mitchell Blades, but I found the switch from a straight shaft a trifle confusing. Anyway, the tough blade has taken all manner of bumps and scrapes and it shows little to almost no wear and tear.....amazing. Sorry to hear about your upcoming surgery. Hope all goes as well as expected and rehab makes you stronger than ever. Really looking forward to viewing your upcoming videos of multiday trips ....... my favourites. Take care...Peter

Sorry, I meant to say, I found it took a while to get used to my 1st cranked shaft (Werner) and wasn't sure but within a short time it just felt so much better, the Bombora just felt right from the start. Cheers... Geoff

Hello my friend! Your walks on the sea are extraordinary. It can be seen that you have experience in these waters with hidden rocks, and not always friendly. You and your friends are very good at rowing. I want to ask you if some of you have done performance sports in the past? Anyway, I really like your sea trips and presented by you in a very pleasant way. Say hello to your friends too! 🤗

love your videos ... a tech question .. what clothing do you wear? I assume they are dry suits? THANKS
@geoffburke Жыл бұрын
Thanks KJ, trying to make them a bit different and enhance the viewing each time. Yes, spot on drysuits for me are suffered at this time of year but prudent should the brown stuff hit the fan 😂. As the weather gets a little warmer I prefer thin base layers under or without a cag and shorts or lightweight easy dry running/cycling trousers, knee length goretex kayak boots for launch and landing as I try to stay dry. This mix is ideal for multi day camping trips too. 👌
