Heyo, author here. I'm honestly shocked at how great the audio design was for this one! I don't think there's another narrator/sound designer who could have portrayed it so accurately, and amazing voice acting work from TJ, as always! [Nearly] all of my stories take place in one connected universe - or, multiverse, however you see it. Anyone who listened to "The Place Beyond the Blizzard" from a few months back might have noticed the mentioning of a "Storm" in this story. Though there isn't as much focus on it here as there is in the Blizzard story, it's there for a reason...

Brilliant story, eerily familiar to one such as myself whose suffered psychotic breaks ironically... The voices talk somewhat the same, we are one, blah blah, free us so we can be fully one, oddly enough sounds like the trickery the main character faced.... But that aside, I got both Borg and Dalek vibes from Circuit. Hehe 😂.

The Place Beyond the Blizzard was one I really loved listening to, but I somehow failed to make the connection that both of these stories were by the same author. Damn the author describes the faded memories from trauma, "hazy and desaturated" Iv coincidentally always described it like trying to view the memory through water. You can see it fully, but at the same time you cant. Very bizarre thing to explain to people so well done author!

I’ve thought about something similar in relation to PTSD. I both get very vivid flashes of memory but at the same time I only really remember a few snapshots, like a highlight picture reel

Yer i have C-PTSD so thought it was pretty spot on tbh. Iv heard apparently part of it, is we remember the emotions of the moment which makes it feel clear, but the memory seems cloudy due to time so its sorta like youre getting both side of it at once.@@zeyface6366

This one definitely tickled my brain and has left me with a feeling. I'm not sure what the feeling is, but this was absolutely a rollercoaster of emotions that were described so well and that ending has left me pondering. Also the awesome sound design really enhanced the story too. I love the voice you gave Circuit!

The sound design on this one was amazing! I also like that the visuals from your last one carried over. It's a nice touch. Story-wise, I am impressed as the alien truly is "alien". For me, a lot of alien stories fall apart because the aliens are just "little green men", written like humans who just happen to not look like humans. This kind of alien story is something I can get behind.

My empathy when I see just one person suffering is enough to understand the grim horror of our reality. I can't imagine being this guy and not being willing to fix the suffering given the opportunity. Worst case scenario I don't think I would be able to keep it from escaping so the only real option is to let it out in the hopes that it's compassion is earnest.

I really, thoroughly enjoyed this story! And that's saying a LOT when you are as proficient a narrator as Ronnie! The protagonists belligerence was infuriating at times, but understandable; the ambiguous nature of The Circuit s motives and origin really draws you in and captures your attention!! The tension was palpable from beginning to end, and those of us who have lost loved ones can resonate deeply with the prospect offered by a being a questionable trustworthiness. The vocal performances were incredible as always, the sound design was emersive and vibrant, EXACTLY what each scene and scenario called for!! 🤔 Question: Were there multiple actors in unison to voice The Circuit? It's crazy, because it seemed like a vocal effect, but with recognizable elements!! 🤔 This is absolutely going into my 'favorites' like so much of your other work! I am always aware at artists digs at any 'god' figure; anyone offering to "fix" humanity is unquestionably regarded as a villain, despite our desperate need of repair, and our current lot of real, tangible villains doing far worse than limiting freedom. This ending being open this way was a significant artistic choice that allowed parties on both sides to embrace the hope or horror that the protagonists actions set in motion, and it makes this tale an absolute classic!! The music is GORGEOUS as well, not sure if it's new, but I would love to revisit the scoring of this project on its own merit. YOU KNOCKED THIS ONE OUT OF THE PARK... AGAIN!!!!! 💪🏾

This was so well done! Kinda reminds me of the Derelict series by Malice (the machinelike lifeforms) and There's a Gravitational Anomaly Past Jupiter's Orbit- everything of which I love.
