with the old seaboard’s you couldn’t play interval notes within a semi tone of each other. has this been fixed?

I don't know why but I feel like that block M is what I needed as it is its own product doing so many different stuff. I'm new to this. just got it but already see this will work. Thanks to the team for keep creating products for us out of the norm.

This will be very good, especially in a practical sense, to have a fully MPE enabled device that just sits on the desk to use with Ableton Live.

While the video does cover "What's new", it's not really an accurate title. The vast majority of the video is just general seaboard information that would also apply to the old model.

We are thrilled to have SEaboard BLOCK back on sale. You are right, the major update is the MIDI Out, re-engineering and software updates.
@hehaheadshot9711 ай бұрын
@@WeAreROLI I am not thrilled with ROLI's lack of transparency on this (please state the changes clearly on your site). "Connect to your hardware instruments with MIDI Out" is mentioned 3/4 down the page which seems quite odd. Why is the only new feature not a headline at the top of the website? The M stands for "MIDI Out", correct? I am thrilled that it is back too! I have been repairing broken Seaboard Blocks to keep them in circulation since IMO they're the greatest MPE controller available and one of the coolest modular instruments to-date. I also have hope that this re-launch means Roli will work to improve the mobile-app experience and reduce the amount of bugs and obstacles currently present.

With two Seaboard Block M's connected to each other - how does sliding work? Device is missing 25th C key, so I guess that sliding finger over to another unit will result in one note slide?
@aaronellson984910 ай бұрын
With 2 units connected it acts like one unit, it stands to reason you can slide all the way across both units with a held note.

It needs to have speakers and a way to feed sounds on the go… I want something like this to take to the park and just play! But it seems like it's not that straightforward. You have to use highly complicated software-the kind of thing architects love to dive into. But me? I’m not wired like that at all. I’m more intuitive and want to find sounds while I play, without having to go through some labyrinth of software on an iPad. I really want to stay screen-free. I like knobs to turn, buttons to press, and maybe a touchscreen with a tactile feel-but I don’t want to depend on Google and Apple devices just to make music. It defeats the whole purpose of trying to escape smartphones, notifications, and the constant social media distractions. But I have to admit, I love how the keys work. I can't see any other brand being as intuitive or interesting when it comes to actually playing it. That said, the setup alone already gives me a headache-kind of like Logic Pro did. Honestly, I hate feeling overwhelmed by software just to make music. Not all of us are math geniuses like this guy. But I’ve got to give him credit: his music is amazing, really well-made. No surprise, considering he’s an architect-his music is like a soundscape of cool buildings! I just don’t think I’m cut out for this level of complexity, but thanks for sharing. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll find the patience.

$300 in 2017 is now worth $375 so technically with inflation it's a bit cheaper now. Did it ever retail for under $300? The MIDI out TRS jack adds some value as well and whatever actually changed with their "re-engineering surface material change". I'm remaining skeptical on the material until later reviews come out.
@ThePoushal11 ай бұрын
@@hehaheadshot97 Priced at £279.95 inc VAT, the Seaboard Block is by far the most affordable model of a must-have music-making tool for the contemporary musician. Fitting easily in a backpack and connecting to ROLI’s free mobile app NOISE, it is the most accessible Seaboard ever made. “A portable Seaboard is literally genius,” said Grimes. The £299 price currently on their site seems to be their "black friday" discounted 40% off price and the actual retail price is £418. So £125 price bump.
