Love it! I just got one. Water crystal clear. You're cat likes it too. I got 3 .

That is bad ass, comes with all you need. That seems like a REALLY nice setup. It self primed, that is impressive, i wouldn't of even tried that but it sure worked, i guess that pump in the water is a HUGE difference.
@BuddyMayfieldFishBuddy7 жыл бұрын
+MyView 10.75.69 i think the biggest part of it self priming is the surface skimmer pulls water in over the motor before it starts up

I like the large media basket, however the included sponge is too small. You’d think they would include more media for a filter of this size. Great review. Thanks for posting.

Hi Buddy. This looks really awesome. I had no idea Seachem made filters! Can't wait to hear what you think after running it a while.. Aqueon has the intake right into the motor as well.. I love them! Having the heater by your filter is best for even distribution of the warmed water. Nice setup.. great video Buddy. Well done!

+DebTim A CANADIAN Girl i just saw an ad for them a few days ago and then saw it getting food. I should have known there would have been at least one other filter with a pump in the tank. Never had that one so go figure
@DebTim7 жыл бұрын
How did the price compare.. I would grab a couple if I saw them here..
@BuddyMayfieldFishBuddy7 жыл бұрын
+DebTim A CANADIAN Girl they are a bit more expensive than the aquaclears. I picked it up at a lfs that typically has prices comparable to amazon. With that being said i couldn't find them on amazon when i first learned of them. My ac 110 was 79.99 and the tidal 110 was 82.99. I plan on doing a review on it after using it for a while. I have some possible concerns to cover there.
@DebTim7 жыл бұрын
I am so interested in them. I also looked on Amazon.. nope not there "yet" You should send this video in to Seachem. it's very well done. As for the price... you get what you pay for ..
@BuddyMayfieldFishBuddy7 жыл бұрын
+DebTim A CANADIAN Girl it's definitely a nice build over all. My lfs is pretty amazing when it comes to having products and the best prices. They have had zebra plecos for around $250 when online they are easily twice that. Send it to seachem huh? I might have to see about doing that.

I have a pretty thick background and was wondering if this HOB will clear it? I'm using a AC 110 and it's fine.. but this filter looks a bit tighter for clearance.. I also read that the 'skimmer' does most of the intake of water and not the down tube..even when that dial is turned to max or less.. your thought's? thanks Joe

Which way do you turn the bottom dial to open the bottom suction?

Great video! 2 questions: How far does it stick out past the back of the tank? 4" like an Aquaclear? And, how wide is the gap where it hangs over the frame? My aquarium top frame is 1.25" wide, so an Aquaclear 70 doesn't fit over it. Thanks!
@BuddyMayfieldFishBuddy7 жыл бұрын
+markalanwade i measured the gap to be about 1.5", and 4.5" from the back of the rim on my tank to the back of the filter, however my rim is only 7/8" wide. The basket itself is about 3 3/4" deep front to back where it hangs behind the tank. I hope i didn't make that too confusing and that it answers your question sufficiently. Thanks for watching
@turntablez1237 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video. If you do a water change below the intake tube does the water stay in the filter and keep the media submerged? I know with the pump on the intake like that I wasn't sure if the water drained out when doing a large water change.

+turntablez123 i believe it did, i will double check and include it in my upcoming review

Great video. If the water level drops below the surface skimmer slits, will it stop drawing water up from the intake tube? Can you turn the skimmer off completely? I'm just wondering during water changes if I would need to unplug it. Thanks!
@BuddyMayfieldFishBuddy7 жыл бұрын
+Tropical Fish Success the surface skimmer cannot be closed or turned off. It will need to be unplugged for a water change if you do a lot. Will do a review about all the details like this after some more use

I want to get this Seachem Tidal 110 model but then I'm not 100% sure yet because my tank is a Marineland® 60 Gallon Heartland LED Aquarium with Stand and the spot I wanna hang this filter has strip of LED light running along the edge of the rim (black area) at the top. So the gap is about 1 3/4" or 4.5cm so can you can confirm if I can get this filter? I don't want to get it then return because the gap for my tank is way too wide and I can't hang it. Also, all 3 models (55 75 and 110) has the same gap length?

Nice video, found it very helpful. Just a quick question about how slow it filled up at the start. Do you have the dial at the very bottom set to the lowest setting (making most of the water intake come from the skimmer)?
@BuddyMayfieldFishBuddy7 жыл бұрын
+Ontario Guy no, i was dumb and turned the flow adjuster to the lowest setting without realizing.

Great unboxing! How much of a difference in media capacity would you say there is between the Tidal 110 and the aquaclear 110?
@BuddyMayfieldFishBuddy7 жыл бұрын
+Mikal Downs i think it's very similar overall, however the ac 110 gives you a huge thick coarse sponge and the tidal 110 has a thinner sponge. I will do some measurements for the coming review for a less estimated more measured answer

First unblocking and review of this newly released power filter in English. :) how does it compare with your aquaclear? And I'm assuming that the water is forced to go up through the media like an aquaclear am I correct?
@BuddyMayfieldFishBuddy7 жыл бұрын
+Jacob Adams yes it is forced from below up past like an aquaclear. Not sure over all for comparison since it's only ran over night. Going to do a review after some time with it. Lol i saw some in Spanish but didn't actually watch them

+Flavio Design Aquairums the tidal 110 definitely fits, what you saw was my 56 column, i don't remember if you could see my ac 70 on the other side. The tidal 110 is rated at 450gph

African Cichlids this is nice. but so is the aq 110. not much competes with it for hobs until this. still appears as though the aq 110 hold more media, just eyeballing it from this video. but this is obviously an aq upgrade. same basic design.

You should put the seed media below seachem matrix to seeded better. This filter has big compartment for more bio media holding that you should consider to add more then top all media with a good polyfloss to round out and polishing your water. Great review and walkthrough set up.
@BuddyMayfieldFishBuddy7 жыл бұрын
+Tson Dang agreed, i should. I only didn't because of the bag size of the new media, also the "seed media" was only 2-3 weeks old. This is a secondary filter for this tank. Thanks for the tips!

@joec21745 жыл бұрын
Filter has issues that still need to be worked out. By passing, skimmer feature is lacking. Debris quickly blocks basket holes, heater clip diameter is useless. Sponge is too porous I had to use two to gain better filtration. Good concept but needs more refinement. Also bullet looking when installed. I have 3.
@imthevictorr7 жыл бұрын
that sponge is very small for the size of the filter.
@sociald45156 жыл бұрын
imthe victorr its a very big basket you could always buy another one of the spounge pads and put it in. I personally use an extra piece of pinky filter pad on top of the blue spounge. I also have a pre filter on the intake tube. Works great..

The only drawback is that if I do any significant water change, the filter runs out of water really quick, unlike my aquaclear which can continue to run for quite a low water level. For people who need to do frequent large water change like discus or fancy goldfish people, this may not be so good.
@BuddyMayfieldFishBuddy6 жыл бұрын
+Michael Lou agreed, this filter isn't for everybody. I did find it overall to be a decent filter however
@michaellou71016 жыл бұрын
Yes I still do large water change and just ignore the grinding sound. I hope it wont burn up the mechanism over time.I really like the power and the simplicity of it.
@BuddyMayfieldFishBuddy6 жыл бұрын
it stays full of water if you shut it off while doing your water change. i like that as opposed to the aquaclears where the water in the filter will draw back out the intake tube and empty it. as long as you don't take days to turn the filter back on you should lose little to no bacteria and it shouldn't affect your cycle. hope that helps keep your filter living longer!
@michaellou71016 жыл бұрын
Buddy Mayfield yes but I don’t want to plug and unplug it over again.....
