Bought a defect jetski with many faults and the engine in boxes. Here the engine is inspected, repaired as assembled. Video ending by taking the RXP out on water for a test drive.

Update! New season here in north Sweden. When colleted the Seadoo from storage I noticed a lot of oil and antifreeze mix in the bottom of the hull. I pumped it out and it was like 1 litre oil and half a litre antifreeze. The antifreeze was an easy fix, just a clamp that was broken. The oild leak took some time to trace but evenually I found a small leak from the drive axle boot bearing. I replace the boot with bearing and now all is fine. Also replaced all ignition coils as one was broken. Went out for a 30 min drive and all worked fine. Checked the oil filter after and it had 3 small metal flakes. Probably from wearing in new piston rings or just some crap left from renovation. Will drive some more soon and then replace the oil and filter.

If I only knew 20% of what you know about engines, because you went all in 1000%. Torque wrenches, gauges everywhere, measuring devices, engine lift smh. not to mention the polish job at the beginning (Nice to get that out of the way first), the jet pump restore and prop job. Man you put on a clinic. very very impressive. Good on you 👍 Now it’s Funtime!

Summer update: Now I have been out for 2-3 hours and the ski runs great. Max speed is 60Mph which should be ok on 155hp machine. Thanks.

I’ve got the exact same ski with 80hrs on it, the only mod I’ve done is an after market prop. I get an extra 10kmh top end speed(sits on about 108kmh) and its way better for towing surfers behind. No cavitation at all any more. Great work on the rebuilt!!

Juan CH I brought the after market prop online, then u need to get the right spline key from a seadoo dealership to Thame the prop off. Or you could get the shop to do it when u get a service.

This is the second and last part of the restoration project. I bought the RXP in bad condition and the engine fully in parts. Please not that I have not included all parts of the work performed and it is not ment to be an educational video on how to restore an 4-tec engine. This is just an overview of my project which took about 6 weeks in total. Thanks.

@aaba112
@aaba112 5 жыл бұрын
@@Festyxr4 I borowed one from my other seadoo to verify. Then I ordered 3 new but the season was over by then. Now the snow is melting up here in north of Sweden so in 6 weeks I will continue and fine tune this project.

a lot of work..well done. what was the total cost in the end?
@aaba112
@aaba112 4 жыл бұрын
Lets say that the purchase + parts for restoration gave me a total cost that was about $1500-$2000 lower than the market value for these kind of jetski in Sweden.

How did you test the injectors? Do you have a link to the device used?. Cheers and great work.
@aaba112
@aaba112 5 жыл бұрын
I used only a poratable power supply set with low volt and amp to apply a pulse of power to the injector to verify that it opened and fuel passed through.

Maybe because he used SBT parts. The internet is full of warnings not to do this. Use OEM parts (even NOS) only on these machines..
