It’s always fun to meet a big barge head to head in what we used to call the ditch. It’s amazing how much water is displaced by those things. Scared the crap out of me the first time. My low depth alarm warning went off. I was using my 33’ Sea Ray with dual V drives. Baytown Warf is one of our favorite marinas to spend the weekend. The staff is super nice and there’s always staff to help you tied up and refuel.

They are a different sort of beast. I love mine, but haven't had any mechanical issues to speak of. Worth renting one to check it out, or finding someone to let you give it a good shake down cruise. Some buy it thinking it to be a big party barge, but it's actually a fairly small boat. Mine doesn't like more than about 5 people on it, really slows it down.

Did you mentioned the gas mileage, what about the weather when you arrived at crab Island. What was the gas prices and how expensive it was to dock and get something to eat?
@JetBoatPilot
@JetBoatPilot 5 ай бұрын
Seems like that trip is about 50-60 miles. Gas prices swing wildly here. That year the prices were $7.00 per gallon. This year they were $5.00 per gallon. Food at the dock and anywhere near Crab Island is sold at a premium, its a tourist spot. Think of it like this. You get a free admission pass to hang at one of the most beautiful spots on the planet, but you have to pay for everything else.

So all the buzz about the SeaDoo switch and its Jetski turned sea faring suv , i wonder if its the best option for inshore boating. Really they shouldve called it the SeaDoo Mix considering all that can be done with it. Party Pontoon. perfect sports fishing boat. Considerable range and speed. And ive seen other reviews that have taken the Switch into the choppy's and although not it particular playground it faired far better than one would think considering its dimensions. again that jetski dna being the help.
