Your roux came out good. I'm from Southwest Louisiana. We cook our okra down first to get the slime out. And we only put crawfish tails not the whole crawfish with blue crab, shrimp, oysters and whatever seafood to cater to everyone. But yours looks good.

I’ve never seen it made with beer & my people in Louisiana fry their okra before adding it take the slime out.. other than that the presentation was simply amazing && it looks delicious!🤌🏽☺️

i watched this video when it first came out & decided to cook it for my husband & i . {this is my first time making gumbo} so i was already gonna be kind to myself for that you know beginner stage. HOWEVER......i feel like my gumbo didn't come out anything like yours. it taste very "floury". & doesn't have that dark color. idk what i did wrong 😢. i'm gonna try again in the future , hopefully i have better luck.

The closest thing to authentic original gumbo that I have ever seen! I make mine the same way!!!!! Gumbo isn’t thick it’s dark and thin with tons of flavors!!!!
