played the walnut 12 string that seagull makes in a shop once that put the 4000 dollar taylor 12 string i played right after it to shame, they are the best sounding guitars i've ever played

I’ve played guitar for almost two decades and have played on numerous high end acoustics. I absolutely fell in love with the sound and feel of Seagull guitars. I own an Entourage and LOVE it. Its build and sound quality is just as good as guitars that cost 3-4 times as much as it. For those who want to spend over a grand for an acoustic, Seagull has those too, but for most mortals, their S6’s and Entourage guitars would please most musicians!

Love my 2001 S6. Beauty guitar. Killer tone and playability. Fret board is a bit wider, but that's part of the beauty of the tone! Best $350 I've spent back in the day! This is a player indeed.

Love my S6 Original. As he says, the cedar top sounds even better after a year or two of playing. Great quality, stays in tune. Slightly wider nut is ideal for fingerstyle playing. I use Elixir lights, Fishman rare earth pickup and Loudbox Mini.

GetInMyBelly I haven't played the Entourage. From what I've read, the S6 has a slightly wider neck, and a warmer, mellower sound. So it comes down to personal preference. Acousticguitarforum and Ultimate Guitar have threads on this if you want more info.

Hey, I don't know if you will see this but how do bar chords feel on the wider neck? I have a Yamaha now, and can play F fairly easy on it, but when I tried to on the Seagull at guitar center I was having difficulty playing it cleanly. My Yamaha has a 1.7 nut though compared to the 1.8 of the s6. I would just get the slim version of it, but I really want the wide because I know in the future I'll want to improve on fingerstyle. Just wondering if its something I'll get accustomed to, or if I should just get the slim.

I'm 99% ready to make a purchase of a Seagull S6 Original. The only obstacle is that I have heard they have thick chunky necks making them hard to play, unless you happen to have huge hands, which I don't. Comments?

I never tried this guitar, but I readed in blogs they said this guitar really good and in my opinion sounds really great. I am thinking buy this guitar too. I have to upgrade like you. I play guitar since 2013 and still I play with my trash cort accoustic guitar :). In future I hope I can try this guitar because I am left handed. In my country It is really hard to find and expensive.

Thats not for the styling heee, it has a scientific meaning, have all strings straight and keep tunning stable with pretty close top B & G nuts

Carlo OS At first I didn’t like it either, but that’s because we are Used to large headstocks. Seagull designed theirs that way to keep the path from the tuning machine heads to the bridge a straighter path. It both serves to keep tuning in check longer, to make tuning more direct, and it creates less twisting pull on the headstock. Over time I’ve fallen in love with the look. Seagulls look humble but sound epic. Their website can explain the headstock better than I can.
