Seal Bull Saved From Plastic Strap

The black plastic strap was small and this made it difficult to see from a distance whether the seal was entangled or not. We have rescued countless seal bulls from packaging straps at the fish factories. Someone didn't care if the strap was looped, nor did they care where it ended up or what it ended up doing. Unless we start caring about how our actions affect the environment, the problem will only worsen.

We are unfortunately not solving the problem, but only treating the symptoms of the plastic crisis with our rescues. These videos aim to show the consequences of this pollution and create a change to tackle its roots - namely our addiction to single-use plastics, the lack of law enforcement at sea, and the shortcomings of the recycling industry.

You know it was too tight when the ends of the strap retreat under the opening in the net when it's cut. The seal must have felt instant relief when it happened. Thank you Naude and Antoine for making sure there was an entanglement and getting rid of it for him.
