I've seen videos where the seals have apparently relaxed when the bonds start getting released, which could suggest they understand they are getting help, in some cases at least, but mostly I think the animals are already very stressed when tangled up. I'm sure it's just panic for them when captured, until they are free and back with the pod.

Thank God salt water heals very well. I had completely chopped off the tip of my finger, through the bone. My doctor placed it where belonged bandaged it then was told I had to keep my hand plastered to my chest for months. It wasn't going so well and my mother took me to Atlantic City and let me go in the pre polluted salt water. That night my finger went from purple green to completely normal. I was able to have a finger with the end still there. It doesn't feel or look normal and its a quarter inch longer than the same finger on my other hand.

I can't help but think that the fisherman are aware but don't care because the seals would be eating their catch, and could potentially be behind🎉 the deliberate cause for some of the seal entanglements. Given the vast population of these seal colonies fish trawling is threatening their food source and survival. In my opinion trawling should be banned worldwide. @@kavyatips5608 you are the fool, educate yourself before saying stupid shit like that. Namibia's economy is largely dependent on fishing, there are dozens of boats everyday in those waters and not all gear that goes into the water comes back to shore.

The seals sound like a large flock of sea sheep. Is that why Sea Sheperd is involved?
@OceanConservationNamibia4 жыл бұрын
Hahaha! Sea Shepherd is not involved but yes they do sound like sheep 🙂

@@c.w2000 Sea Shepherd is having trouble right now because several countries have listed the as a terrorist organization. They had been working in the gulf of Mexico pulling illegal nets that kill the vaquita but they were shot at a couple of times by poachers, they have been pretty silent since covid19.
