Seal Runs Off With Rescue Net!

As much as we had hoped that seals would one day be able to feel our good intentions: they don't. To them, we are weird and dangerous predators with scary nets. We can't blame them for wanting to escape from us as quickly as possible, even if they take the net with them! It was very unfortunate that this little seal had to be caught again right away because one hidden loop of fishing line was left behind. Seals and other marine animals get entangled because humans have treated the ocean like their rubbish bin. The animals are right by avoiding us. Especially dumped fishing gear poses a serious threat to their global survival.

they only chase it into the water if its had a super bad cut with infections, as the salt water will clean it and allow proper healing to start

Hi all. We are -1.99 million! Oh, what a smart seal! He almost dragged the net into the ocean. After the second capture, he actually rushed into the ocean at the second cosmic speed. I still cant believe how good their eyes are in spotting something is wrong.

We scan the different groups of Cape fur seals with binoculars from far away, looking for imperfections in their fur. This is a skill we wish we never had to develop, but we are unfortunately very experienced by now.

You really notice that no rescue is the other alike and the juveniles will do anything to get away from the rescuers if they have the option. Damn that was a lot of beached Jellyfishes. Your never worried about being stung?
