Ghost fishing lines are a massive problem for our Cape fur seals. Especially young and playful baby seals mistake ocean pollution and plastic rubbish for food or toys, and they often end up getting entangled. There’s no doubt fishermen are well aware of our work, but as long as sustainable fishing laws are not enforced, fishermen will continue to trash the ocean.
