Can I ask - if you are leaving them to dry for 2 days how do you have any special techniques to keep dust away while still allowing air circulation or do the become dry enough to become dust free quickly?

Cool coasters and it's so easy to take the paper off the back. I also like the shape. Thanks so much for sharing.

I find Stone Coat Countertops traps microbubbles which cannot be removed by heat gun or toothpicks. I've tried everything - warming the room, the bottles, the mold, stiring slow, used the heat gun but there are hundreds of microbubbles trapped in the resin that won't rise to the surface no matter how much I heat and thin the resin. How do you deal with micro bubbles in this epoxy. I love your beautiful coasters!

The only reason you would get microbubbles with this resin would be if your resin was too cold. Try pre-heating the resin a little bit in front of a space heater or in a warm water bath before mixing :)

I checked out the coasters on your link. The description states that the tiles need to be sanded prior to paint pouring. Did you do this to yours?

I did not :)

What's the best brand of resin? And then does that kind of resin keep from being heat resistant. Ok You said it lol

I've been trying to find the perfect resin for coasters. I've been reading the reviews and SO many say a hot cup is ok but they're having a problem with cold glasses. They say a cold glass sticks and when they lift the glass the coaster drops sometimes breaking. This was so disappointing to hear. Have you ever tried a cold glass? If yes how did it do and what kind of resin do you use? I've decoupaged so many tile coasters. I'm starting to think I've waisted time and money. 😥

There is no resin that a cold drink won't stick to and it has nothing to do with the resin, it's because it's a smooth surface. A cold drink will also stick to glass, tile, or any other smooth surface due to the condensation. A way around this is to resin one side and put cork on the other. Then the resin side could be used for hot drinks, the cork side for cold drinks.

What do you do with any left over resin that you mixed up
@gorillaprutt Жыл бұрын
I usually have some small silicone molds nearby that I pour my remaining stuff into, sometimes I mix in some pigment in the remaining resin

Could you please tell me, does it actually take 30 days for this resin to cure? I recently switched to this resin because you've spoken so highly of it. Then in the instructions it says 30 days, I'm used to 7 days with ksresin. I don't ever have 30 days to wait..
@MixedMediaGirl3 жыл бұрын
There are different cure times. It should be completely hard within about 24 hours, able to be used within 7 days, and fully fully cured in 30 days
