I've recently been seeing a lot of people making concrete jars with Cement All and sealing them the very next day. I'm glad you made this video because I was going to start doing the same thing. Now I know that I need to wait in order to maintain good quality. Quicker isn't always better. Thanks a lot.

For sidewalks and other projects that size its recommended to seal after 28 days. Some contractors like to push that boundary a little but that's taking a gamble with the quality of the finished result.

If it is a cure and seal product everything is fine. The cure and seal require another coat of sealer after 1 year. For a full strength sealer, you need to wait 28 days.

You will be fine with a "Cure and seal" product like this one but will need to reseal after one year- globmarble.com/concrete-cure-and-seal-cs-250-25percent-solids.html . For a regular sealer we recommend waiting 28 days

Great video. We are currently fighting with our patio contractor who absolutely ruined our patio in several ways and one of them was sealing it the day after it was poured. It's horribly horribly stained. They insist that it helps with the curing process. THAT'S BS.

Some sealers like cure and seal are meant to be put the day after but they are temporary and need to be resealed with a real sealer after 1 year. Post some pictures on reddit in the r/concrete subreddit and you can get multiple professionals tell you what exactly went wrong and whether it was the contractor's fault and what to do

@@GlobMarble thank you, I appreciate that. However, our slab is crumbling in places as well as the finish looks like Stevie Wonder did it. I've been around the construction industry my entire adult life and I am an electrician by trade and I have never seen a slab that looks this bad. They are ignoring our texts and ignoring our phone calls, so we are going to have to sue them in small claims court unfortunately.

Thanks mate, very very useful infomation. I live in South Australia Australia, which is dry arid climate and we are coming in to our summer. I am pouring slab 16M .x 11 M or 52ft x 36ft which is my hanger for my aircraft. So what l understand is i wait 28 days before sealing. Which leads me to my next question. What finish would you request from my concrete finisher to then DYI a presentable sealer / epoxy / Polyaspartic / Polyurethane or ? Also it is open hanger with no doors so gets the morning sun every day Any advice would be apreciated Cheers mate

You definitely want to get a broomed finish for grip on the plane's wheels. And since it will be exposed to the elements, I suggest a sealer like HS200 which has excellent UV resistance- globmarble.com/stamped-concrete-acrylic-sealer-hs-200.html

Thanks for the video...helpful! Question for ya...our concrete balcony was laid 2 months ago and we've been waiting to seal it (lots of rain and temps under 5 degrees celsius). Finally have good weather and noticed some areas around the edges were crumbling so developer came and added some new concrete in a few small areas around the edges. Do we have to wait 28 days for the small patches to dry before sealing the whole thing or would waiting a shorter time, like 7 days, be enough since the majority of the balcony is solid after 60+ days of curing?

32 days is just for giant masses of concrete like slabs. 7 days should be plenty of time for moisture to escape patchwork

Hey man. Great video. I’ve just had a slab poured today but building on it is going to be in 8 days. Is it best to just leave it as is and crack on with the building. I hear that after one week, the slab is ok to start building on it and it’s log cabin. It’s going to be too early to seal it as per your video advice. Also, is it worth sealing the edges that I can get to after 28 days or is there no point as I won’t be able to get underneath. Thanks dude.

Youve got everything right. Log cabin is tricky as moisture will definitely be trapped in the wood and will bleed into the concrete below it. I'd recommend using a product called cure and seal as soon as possible, it's basically a temporary sealer meant to be resealed after a year. Should be enough to hold for a long time under the wood as it will receive no traffic- globmarble.com/concrete-cure-and-seal-cs-250-25percent-solids.html

You will need to strip the sealer and wait until the concrete has no moisture inside before resealing. Easiest way to check for moisture is by taping a clear sheet of plastic to the concrete 2'x2'. If there is condensation underneath the plastic after 24 hours you should not apply the sealer.

Depends on what you are talking about. A mold like this can be sealed after 7 days and still look good. A concrete slab can't be sealed until 28 days after pouring. There are exceptions though, you can use a product like cure and seal the day after you pour it, but you will have to reseal after one year. My contractor added a sealer to our 1300 sq ft garage slab at the end of the day on the day it was poured. Is that too soon? It also developed hair line cracks going across 4 out of the 9 sections poured within 24 hours. Should I be concerned?
