All quality / commercial sealers come in 2 parts . When mixed together the sealer hardenes. This way a lot can be achieved in a very small time . Use P.V.A just as a liquid solution to bind down dust , nothing more .

A builder friend of mine told me never to use PVA as it's not at all waterproof and in fact turns back into "glue" when exposed to water or damp? He said I should either use SBR which is like PVA but a different chemical or use a liquid DPM. Not sure if he's correct or not but how is your floor holding up? Great video 👍

If your painting over the floor after applying PVA it is pretty good because it creates a smooth dust free surface for the paint to adhere and seals the concrete and stops the paint cracking.

Depends if it’s indoor or outdoor mate, also if concrete is currently wet and indoors don’t want to seal it yet with sbr

I’m in the middle of doing up my garage and was wondering how you’d got on with the PVC tiles? There seem to be a lot of choice and for a single garage ranges from £160-600. Would you recommend the tiles you used? And any tips for installation? Thanks

Yer it should be fine. Make sure you wash it first though to get as much dust off as you can. Best of luck.

Tbh mate I was just making it up as I went and basing it on other youtube vids/guides I'd read. Googling what a cement fillet is I've definably done it and nothing disastrous has happened, yet.

Money. PVA will soften up again once it gets wet, whilst SBR won’t.

I left it for a whole week between each coat but you might get away with 24 hours on a warm day. Some of the edges and corners took longer so you'll just have to play it by ear. I don't think you could use normal wall paint over it no, but you can definitely use epoxy floor resin. It's also recommended to do this prior to using resin anyway.

I'm unsure how damp proof this is I'm afraid. If you epoxied it as well I'd imagine so but you'll still have issues with the walls. Best to ask someone who really knows to be safe.

It said on the back of my PVA tub how much to use so double check that first. Mine was concentrated and said 8:1, 8 parts water to 1 part PVA, but I think I used about 6:1.

Who has the time to do all this messing about. What do you do with all the stuff in the garage while going through this pantomime? Leave it outsiide for three weekends? A very impracticable method and not one I will be using.
