I left america for the first time in my life and im in jakarta now. Im hoping to do some good for the community while im here and looking for advice on the most impactful way to help. On the 15th i will be going to a local orphanage and took care of everything on their online list of what they need. Food, school supplies to light bulbs. My girlfriend also suggest that we give $3 to every kid under 13 and $6 to the older kids. I certainly dont have unlimited funds but am looking for opionins on how else to help the people here.

@@Tyler_N_Friends If it's a muslim orphanage, then according to Islam teachings it is recommended to give "Santunan" (basically money) to orphans. It is said that the money you give to them would help you in the afterlife. Other than that, give them school supplies and new clothes, they'll appreciate it. Now if you want to have a bigger impact, teach them valuable skills like English. Volunteer to teach them basic English that would help them later. I'm sure the orphanage would be glad if you do that.

I'm Indonesian, and I can't even fathom living in the slums of Jakarta. I'd rather live in the neighboring cities like Tangerang or Bogor, etc. Not too far from the capital, but more peaceful and much cheaper. I lived and worked in Jakarta, and I ain't going back.

Exactly! I’d much rather live in a rural area with a higher quality of life and a lower cost of living than live in Jakarta, where even with a high-paying job, the cost of living can still be overwhelming. I’ve been to many places across Indonesia-big cities and rural areas-and I’d choose rural living 100% of the time. It’s cheaper, cleaner, the neighbors are a thousand times friendlier, the sense of community is great, and it’s far less individualistic.

What people do with the YT money made filming these poverty stricken areas defines a man or woman, into self serving or selfless. Although known as "slums" but different from slums in other countries. Slum areas in Jakarta are on illegal land, but thankfully the government still provides electricity and water legally. The impact of slums in Jakarta is relatively more healthy and life-saving. If you compare slums in Manila or Mumbai, the condition of slums in Jakarta is still better

There’s truly nothing quite like the authenticity of Seal. He embodies a genuine nature that sets him apart from many others in the spotlight. His ability to remain true to himself is striking; he lives life on his own terms, without any hidden agendas or ulterior motives. This lack of pretense makes him incredibly relatable, allowing fans and viewers to see him not just as a celebrity, but as a real person with real experiences. The documentary featuring him is undoubtedly one of the finest examples of unfiltered storytelling available on KZbin. It offers a rare and intimate glimpse into his world, showcasing not just his remarkable talents but also his personal journey. The film delves into the complexities of his life, exploring his triumphs and challenges with sincerity and depth. What sets this documentary apart is its unadulterated portrayal of Seal's experiences and insights. Unlike many polished productions that often sanitize or manipulate the truth for entertainment, this film captures the raw essence of who he is. Viewers are treated to a compelling narrative that engages them on multiple levels, inviting them to reflect on their own lives as they connect with Seal's story. In an era when authenticity is often overshadowed by spectacle, this documentary stands out as a beacon of honesty. It not only highlights Seal's artistry but also his humanity, making it a must-watch for anyone seeking genuine content that resonates on a deeper emotional level. Thanks Seal, keeping it real!

I believe that all people have the ability to quickly acquire a "feel" for the intentions of those they meet, and I think it's a big reason that you have the experience you do when visiting. Also for people watching videos like these, it is easy to que in on vibe and intentions of the creator. Never once during this hour long video did I feel that the unfortunate living conditions and situation's of others was used in a way that's exploitative to garner shock-value internet attention or clicks. The content was exactly as stated in the title, and we were brought along to witness a first person view into the lives of a welcoming community of people in a genuine way, with respect for other humans. I felt that the true intention came through and that's why it didn't feel patronizing of anyone in the least. I've only seen this one video from your channel but I already know that it's probably the most genuine look into the lives of communities and places abroad, as your intentions and respect are genuine, which makes these videos some of the highest quality content in achieving the purpose that you made them. It felt like you were visiting a community, with the video being secondary product of doing so, and i don't think i've seen any travel channel that's achieved the level of organic content that you have. Respect. I saw a window into the lives of a community and I saw awesome friendly caring people. I also feel grateful for the blessings that I have in my life, and am reminded to always help those less fortunate than me when i am able. Thanks for sharing your stay.

Jakartan here. Since i were little i usually played in these slums which few of my friends also lived in. I always thought it is actually impressive that most houses are cozier than they actually looked like, just don't mind the brutal amount of mosquitoes that haunts the place especially at night.

5 min and I was already hooked in. I love how you do not try to make some crazy show out of it and just show raw footage of how life looks in there. That's exactly what I'm looking for on KZbin tourism videos. Not some highly edited and scripted garbage. Just the most basic camera footage with cuts. It's your first video I watched and I can already feel I'm going to gobble down much more.

I happened to watch your video on the KZbin homepage, after yesterday I watched one of the Indonesian vloggers working in America who highlighted how terrible life is in the "zombie city" of Philadelphia. One of the cities whose life is gloomy because its residents are affected by drugs. Although I am concerned about the slum life on the outskirts of the glittering city of Jakarta, I am still grateful that in the midst of economic difficulties, they are still rich in heart and still have hope at least for their children and grandchildren in the future.

This is the type of vlogs i like when someone is visiting foreign countries. Not the "Wow look at the fancy buildings, look at the over the top facilities" but showing something that most people barely pay attention to, the less fortunate sides. Good vid, keep it up bro

I enjoyed that very much, great video! I really admire how you handle yourself in all these travel situations. Having travelled a lot myself I love how you really take a deep dive in the culture. Not intimidated by all the attention, not too worried about eating potential risky food (man the video in India was next level the one where you puked), always being witty but respectful and not easily shaken by the things you see. Doing a great job and a breath of fresh air compared to the usual travel influencers that just hop between tourist destinations.

The content your putting out is Amazing. Is a book in the future? Would be amazing to hear your thoughts on adventures after youve had time to process. Isn't it amazing that the poorest of people can be so happy and sharing. Yet the richest are stressed, unhappy, and striving for more. Thank you for sharing and Inshallah you will have continued safe travels.
