For the ones who do not want that many layers in the end to loop the composition: right click the comp, go to "time" and then enable time remapping. There should appear a keyframe to which you can add the expression "loopOut()" by alt clicking the stopwatch icon. Now your comp should be looped as long as the composition goes on, hope that helps :)

Excellent tutorial and straight to the point. Here's a quick tip for looping any video. Just go "Time > Enable Time Remapping" then hold alt/opt button and click the little watch on the left side of the "Time Remap" to add an expression. Add this " loopOut(type = "cycle", numKeyframes = 0) ". No more thousands of duplicated layers ;)

A tutorial on how to loop a moving view between two objects would be nice. It can be something shot from a train or car. My footage is taken on one of those flat escalators in an airport. There are clear start and end points between concrete pillars. I just can't figure out the masking or looping.
@kilohertzstudio34293 жыл бұрын
Don't know why you would duplicate and sequence layers at the end, when you can simply invoke time remapping, with a loop() expression.
@creationeffects3 жыл бұрын
So that you can fade the end into the beginning, with the Opacity keyframes.
@CatOnTheCouch3 жыл бұрын
@@creationeffects He was asking about what you did in 'Aurora 2', since 'Auroa' already has the opacity keyframes precomposed, instead of copying the individual 'Aurora' compositions in 'Auroa 2' to form a sequence, you could just use the expression to loop 'Auroa' for however long you like. For example if you want to loop it for 10 hours, using copy/paste the number of layers will be ridiculous, using expression is just a matter of changing the playback duration and increase the 'Auroa' timeline.
@creationeffects3 жыл бұрын
Yes, sorry, you're right. You can add a loopOut() expression on a Time Remap and it would be a more elegant solution. I just didn't think of it.

Could you use a loop expression instead of duping so many layers?
@PandaBazookaWarz3 жыл бұрын
No, you can't make it seamless with an expression. He's also only duplicating one layer. After this you can simply use an expression on this seamless clip within a separate composition. I was trying to do this with an expression as well at first, but this is the most efficient way of doing it. Hope that helps.

There's nothing in the tutorial that would cause long render times - it's just animating the Opacity. My guess is it's something in your clip or the precomp that you're trying to loop.
