I LOVE them too! I had them for over 40 years...2 at a time. Now I have wonder angel mixed breed rescue dogs but I am thinking of getting an IS just one more before I get too old ;-)

Adopté un setter adulto lo encontraron en la calle en muy mal estado y mal carácter en julio va a ser 2 años ....lo tuvimos que castrar .. me gustaría que me puedan ayudar ahora no quiere salir a pasear .. escribo de Pontevedra Merlo..

How do you teach the recall? E-collars or just always have a long-line on?

Why would they use e-collar and pain..? Dogs are smart. If they notice that doing what owner says is fun and gets nice things they will do it. And with lot of work and training and having fun it will work out. But I hope they will answer your question soon ^^ (I just think using pain is not necessary and I would never allow anyone to use pain to my dogs. Specially when there are pain-free ways of training)

Jessica Hammage our setter was taught on a training lead we both took her out and stood a distance apart and called her . Plenty of praise . She’s our second setter and have to say , Florence is just a dream . Total recall walks to heel but plenty of fun . She’s out for two walks a day where she runs , loves water , if not prepared to put in the hours walking and training do not get a setter , not fair on them , put the hours in and you have an adorable buddy
