I watched this as a kid, as well as the series. And I’m just not realizing the movie doesn’t really vibe with the series characterization of Miley that well. She’s not as snobbish or spoiled movie starish in the series. And it’s so weird how when she lands in TN she is disgusted by everything and acts like a city girl compared to how she acts in the series and is always talking about her country life

instead of trying to be in two places at once, why didn't Miley call Travis and reschedule the date? you don't even have to tell him why, just say it's a private matter! even Bella Swan would have had enough sense! the movie doesn't even make it like it was her last night in town, it explicitly says she still has a few days left in town.

I really think Disney Channel has various stages of quality, the extremely bad, like Bizaardvark, the bad but good for nostalgia like hannah montana, so bad they're good like jonas, the kinda messy but pretty good, like jessie and the incredible, which are usually animated like ducktales or gravity falls.

Imagine you're at some girls sweet 16. Like, you don't know her that well, but you're happy to be invited. She rents out a spot by an actual amusement park, there's a big sign saying it's the girls sweet 16. You dance with some people, drink some carbonated beverages, and throw up after riding a roller coaster. It's fun. Then, AN ACTUAL CELEBRITY SHOWS UP. How much money does the birthday girl have??? You lose your mind. This is by far the coolest party you've been invited to. But you notice something nobody else notices. The birthday girl is upset. "You will never, EVER make this up to me!" she screams. What? Does she know the celebrity? Is this not supposed to happen? Are they crashing the party? Yeah, even as a kid I was so surprised to see Lily forgive her that fast. It was understandble how hurt she was by Miley becoming the center of attention at her own birthday party, a party that clearly meant a lot to her and, quite honestly, looked like a really fun time. While I understand Miley not wanting her identity blown because the assistant dude Oswald was following her, it might not have even happened had she left the store *immediately* after realizing she was late and not gotten so focused on winning those shoes from Tyra Banks.

@@DJtheBlack-RibbonedRose Exactly! And the movie was supposed to be the conclusion to the Hannah Montana franchise and it didn't do anything properly. Even the cameos were forced and made absolutely no sense. The soundtrack is where the movie shines the best imo. The Climb, Butterfly Fly away Hoedown Throw Down. The entire movie is pointless because the next season of Hannah Montana came and they acted like the movie NEVER happened. Miley reveals herself in this movie and somehow the conflict resolves by the people in her home town not saying anything. How unrealistic is that?!! It takes one person to say something. Ah yes, the time when the show's theme song breaks during the opening act, Miley gets ignored by her classmates when she's knocked in the head by a volleyball, she accidentally ruins her best friend Lily's birthday party by showing up as Hannah Montana, gets continuously stalked by a creepy British assistant to a gossip mogul who wanted nothing more than to destroy her life, said British assistant is the reason she ruins the party, his daughters are high-key obsessed with her, and she hilariously tries to dash between a celebratory meal with her hometown's mayor as Hannah and a date she was on with Travis, a childhood friend she re-connects with, as Miley. Also, her brother Jackson's head ends up in a pumpkin and she gives Lily a foot massage while Lily's pretending to be Hannah Montana for her. Not many Americans do sweet sixteens. Honestly, not many people even do birthday parties by then anymore, except like going to a restaurant with your family or some friends (never both.) The big sweet sixteens are only something the very rich “popular” girls do.

I actually don't mind the wig disguise that much, i feel like she does look somewhat different and there are tons of celebrity doppelgangers. What always irked me though was that her dad was a well-known country singer and like everyone knows that robby ray is hannah montanas dad (that's also my theory of how she got famous, she's a nepotism baby) but also, everyone in their lives (like at school) knows that robby ray is miley stewarts dad. Like yes he put on the mustache but afaik he never changed his name when he was around hannah?

@seamusgorman Did he mention that Taylor Swift wrote the song at the end You’ll always find your way back home with Martin Johnson from Boys like girls? And lmao I saw it in theaters too and her 3D concert movie (even though I’m even older than Miley and was therefore way too old for it) where they came in with concession carts half way through to make it feel more like it’s a real concert even though at real concerts you actually have to leave the show to walk to the concession stands just like you normally would at the movies. 😂

I love this movie! However one thing greatly bugs me about the movie and I think it also happened in some episodes of the show but if I'm wrong please let me know yet it's the fact that there are moments where Miley can cancel something for one night and reschedule it for some other time yet she winds up finding a way to make it through two things at once because apparently there has to be conflict. For example Miley could have rescheduled her date with Travis just to make it for the mayor dinner and go on that date some other time. Now if Travis was going to leave Tennesse or Miley was going to leave the day after the date that would have been more understandable but he isn't going anywhere and neither is Miley so it doesn't make any kind of sense for her to put him through her double life as well as the people at the mayor dinner like that. It makes her seem very inconsiderate in that way and very selfish as well as self-centered. I love those scenes and they are funny and I love how it leads up to the emotional breakup between Miley and Travis and that moment Miley has that with that blonde hair kid whom is her friend but it still stands it even bugged me when I saw it in cinema. I'm sure that something similar happened in the show or kind of similar yet I can't think of it but the bottom line here is that it always bugs me when someone can easily get out of something yet that someone digs a deeper hole for themselves than they should have is all I'm saying.
