I decided to do something like this for some comics. I couldn't find double-sided adhesive paper, so I'm having trouble lining the inside of the box using regular glue. Lots of wrinkles and deformation of the cardboard. And the inner lining has also proven to be a challenge. The adhesive paper doesn't give much room for adjustments, so sometimes it ends up looking a bit crooked.

Box looks fantastic. Although, after all that, I wish you would have shown a shot at the end so we can see how nicely the movies fit in the box. You did all that great work making them fit in perfectly but we don't get to see that shot. Also, for the inside art, are your inserts printed on both sides of the paper, or did you actually insert 2 sheets back to back. That's what I do because I'm not sure how to have art line up perfectly on both sides of the paper.

Hi! Those 3mm thick boards are often used for bookbinding (I think they are even "officially" called "book binding boards"), however I've recently started to use serigraphy boards instead - they've got extra smooth surface and are pretty lightweight. I no longer use double-sided adhesive tape sheets - I get all my artworks printed as self-adhesive vinyl stickers...

@seamushp2 жыл бұрын
You mean why didn't I get it printed right on the box? Well, I think the thickest paper you can print on is 350g cardstock so the box would be still too flimsy.
@Afrayd2 жыл бұрын
@@seamushp thank you for the information. But I’m asking like when you printed the image of the scream 4 and the “you can’t scream” to put on your box. Instead of having them one print like one big square and just folding them on. You made them separate and like the spine, top, bottom are smaller and have like those flaps. I’m asking why you did that, and how did you do that. So I can try find a template that matches it. If that makes sense
@seamushp2 жыл бұрын
@@Afrayd Oh, I see - I had to split that artwork into 2 pieces because it was bigger than printable SRA3 size (320 x 450 mm). And those flaps - it's easier to make (and cut) them that way so there won't be any visible "overlaps". I actually made a simple paper template by hand (just to get all measurements), then scanned it to my PC and finished it in software
@Afrayd2 жыл бұрын
@@seamushp I see. So you drew the design on the box to get its measurements and you purposely cut like the top part in those flaps in order to stop any overlaps
