Strickland is a fool. The best fighters actually make horrible coaches. Jon Jones has said several times he would be a horrible coach if he coached. Some of the greatest boxing and MMA coaches were no good as fighters but found their calling in coaching

This didn't age well at all. Especially following Francis's success against fury. strickland can think what he wants, but Dewey's style of striking coaching in tandem with Eric's MMA coaching has done wonders for Francis's overall growth as a fighter and future Hall of Famer. Mike Tyson provided guidance and invaluable advice, but make no mistake, Dewey was Francis's primary trainer throughout his camp because they work so well together. Nicksick was a big part of it too, but Dewey took point on this one because he is Francis's main striking coach and this was a standup, albeit boxing, rules bout. Just because Dewey's style may not work for strickland, it works perfectly for Francis. Plus, Dewey may not have been an Ernesto Hoost, but he was still a legit champion kickboxer who often fought and defeated guys much larger than him. See, it's stuff like this that makes me lose more respect for strickland. His rabid fanboys call it "honest" and "unfiltered" but it's more erratic and out of pocket. Just because someone freely speaks what's on their mind, doesn't mean what's on their mind is correct. You can't go and say you like a dude and then proceed to insult him and disparage his legitimacy as a coach, especially when your gym, through your head coach, Erick Nicksick, has a close partnership with that man. That's not very loyal or respectful. That's what I like about the City Kickboxing guys. They can be loyal and keep a brotherhood lifting each other up but without being pretentious "yes men." That doesn't seem to be a concept that strickland understands very well.

Well, i don't personally know he's an exemplary coach, we're working from anecdotal, and the assumptive causation implied in his stables results, but they do incline one to believe the mans getting some right. Strickland, on the other hand, gets almost everything wrong, but that's exactly why i like him. Mfer just gets up, and gets after it, with a desire to be right, and a willingness to fuck up 10 of 10, without giving slack to the quit in him. Also, when folk first started chirping on him, i liked hearing someone say "yeah, I've got alot of hate in me, and i used to allow others to aim it with there prejudice. I was wrong, and shown enough to be a little better". Halle-fucking-lujah-berry, with her tits flying free. To many Sgts, not enough trigger dicks, that's been our world, and it's worse everyday. Trying to mold us into some androgynous hive mind isn't because the super organism sovles more problems, or big ones better, it's because some one wants to be the ruler, and any yard stick oughta get trimmed to fit that meter. Seans no leader, though a bit more as he ages, still not really the diplomat, and too hot headed to count on for a while timed "GO". What he is; one hell of a trigger dick. In the military, American, but im certain this facers replete; soldiers who do well with administrative bs tend to suck at war. The soldiers who win battles, and wars, often spend an inordinate amount of time being reprimanded by "superiors" who've never earned there respect. Some extraordinary times where the kind of squad who can affect a whole theater of war nearly spent it behind bars, and thats the kind of story you can find repeating so often; Joseph Campbell could write another treatise. Coulda called it "goonies with guns: the most dangerous ally no hero can do without"
