Just a personal anecdote for folks to enjoy: back in 2000, I was living in Sedona, AZ and working at a local bakery/coffeeshop. Sean Young would come in regularly, sometimes with her husband and in-laws, sometimes it was just her and her eldest son. She was always very quiet but very kind. She treated those of us behind the counter with respect and was an incredibly generous tipper. One time, I waited on her ~ making a hot chocolate for her son, some kind of drink that I don't remember, for her ~ and she was concerned about the hot chocolate being too hot and her son's mouth being potentially burned. She was firm and direct about this but not at all unpleasant... When I gave the mug to her, so she could check the temperature, she seemed surprised, but expressed gratitude. She then asked me, out of the blue, where I was from. That caught me off guard. I stammered and stuttered ('cause I was actually quite starstruck despite my trying to be calm and professional) in response: "I'm from Vermont." She smiled and nodded and said: "People from there are generally thoughtful, aren't they?"... I laughed and said: "Generally that IS true!" She thanked me for making sure the drink was safe for her son and turned her attention to him. That was the end of any personal communication between us during her visit to the cafe, that time. I share this because my experience of Sean Young is that she was always very kind, had a sort of dignity about her, and she never looked down on anyone, even if they were serving her. I think people deserve to know that and I think she deserves to have people tesitfy as to her real character.

@@Charleybones Or maybe she was pretty much blacklisted by Harvey Weinstein and co. when she declined his advances and said that he sexually harassed her. Kind of feel bad for her at about 27:45 tap dancing because the music completely drowns her out and you can't really hear her doing her art . . I would be certain that if it had been Gregory Hines or Sammy Davis or the Riverdance guy they would not have drowned out the sound of what they were doing .

She was lightning in a bottle. Ironically, Scott tapped into her quiet presence on Blade Runner. Little by little, as the roles dried up, Young descended into loopy stunts. There’s no coming back from such things as you age in Hollywood, which means anything past thirty! You can act anyway you want except desperate. Americans don’t like two things: poverty and desperation. Therefore, it now despises itself. Long live Rachel at the piano in her Neo-Noir poise and Pre-Raphaelite hair.

Sean Young like all of us, have a best before date: but that only applies to the "past". I am curious to see what she will still do. What a delightful retrospective. Clearly Letterman saw her value.

Holy cow, those legs deserve their own star on Hollywood Blvd. She was so beautifully shot in Blade Runner. Jordan Cronenweth and crew really knew what they were doing.

Always liked Sean Young since bladerunner came out. She is beautiful and has a great sense of humor. Miss Letterman too. He knew how to really get to know a guest and let their personality come out. Today's hosts concentrate on themselves too much.

18 years between appearances from second to last and last. That's sad that her career was derailed. I honestly haven't seen much of her work. Knew her best from Ace Ventura, but still remember seeing her around in my childhood. The Catwoman bit at the end was brilliant. She seems like an awesome person.

Well she had kids and obviously gained weight although her face is still just as beautiful but raising kids is a job so she switched to that job instead of acting I guess. I just checked IMDB and she has been acting between 2011 and now in 2021 so good for her.

In her 1991 appearance, at about 46 minutes in, Sean unintentionally hurt Dave's neck while being playfully rambunctious. She didn't stay after her segment, which was unusual compared with her other visits; the camera came back after the break, to Dave explaining that he'd been in an accident and had suffered from a neck injury since. Next, about 50:30, Sean's 1993 appearance begins, with her arriving noticeably subdued; Dave says something into her ear as he greets her, and she indicates agreement. It looks like he may have been asking her to be careful of his neck? Also in her 1991 appearance, Sean mentions flying in from Rome that day, where she had filmed with Richard Lewis (she mentions working with Richard as relaxing and describes him as a sedative, ha ha). That film was "Once Upon A Crime", with an ensemble cast including John Candy, Cybill Shepherd, George Hamilton, and others, which I enjoyed especially because it had some beautiful footage of Monaco, which I had just returned from visiting and Sean's character described Monte Carlo exactly as I had: "It's so clean - like Disneyland!" Great video. Thanks so much for putting together and sharing all these appearances. Sean is lovely and talented, and I hope she'll do more great work in the future. I loved her performance in "Wall Street," I know some people like that, and she nailed that brittle, arriviste upper-class personality perfectly. I've read - don't know if it's true - that her scenes were reduced because she had wanted to play Darien and expressed her displeasure to Oliver Stone; but she brought the perfect shark-like charm to the role of Kate Gekko and I would love to see other scenes of her in the role.

I always thought she was crazy but she just sortof seems like an eccentric person. Really sweet but also funny and goofy. Her ideas for going after rolls seems like it's something a kid would do in high school to impress a teacher or something. It's kindof endearing in a way. I've known crazy women and they're aren't necessarily sweet like this lol.
