I get it. I'm only sleeping. You know, I had the exact same thought the first time I heard this song, but not in such a bad way. I like both songs. If you can't be influenced by your dad then there's something wrong with you, or your dad. My Dad wasn't John Lennon but that never stopped me from wanting to be like him or looking up to him. So give it a rest already people. Pun intended.

Ok... for all you people saying, “Hmph... sounds like some Beatles’ song.” I would ask you to think of this next time you feel that way, Sean has both nature and nurture working in a John perferring way. Nature refers to his genetics. The guy cannot help that he looks like and sounds like his dad. Same with Julian. . Genetics are like that. John apparently had dominant genes. (I am Korean, Apache, and Mexican. Both my daughters however, look mostly white and like their dad. That is how the genetics worked out. So I had to say goodbye to my long anticipated long dark haired child.) The environment also had a role in shaping his musical predilections. I would hazzard that Yoko listened to John’s music when Sean was young, influencing his musical taste. And even more critical, I would gather from videos and stories about John, that he sang to Sean when he was a wee Sean. So Sean most likely has a John and a Beatles favoring musical tendency. Meaning, even if he tried otherwise, his music would come out sounding John-like and/or Beatlly. I know it sounds like a bunch of conjecture, but I have an Anthropology MA and was in the Ph.D. program at my University. And there is enough research in various areas to support my assertion, like musicology and/or developmental psychology. When it comes to certain talents, both nature and nurture apply in a complimentary manner to increase the likelihood for certain kinds of talents arising. So I am saying I believe both worked in Sean’s and Julian’s cases to be John favoring. In other words, in both their cases nature and nurture worked in ways to make it highly likely that they would musically express much like, in fact uncannily like, John.

I almost cry every time I hear this song. I can't help but feel, they may have killed a man that could have had the impact of Jesus. Please don't take this wrong. I just mean, his heart was approaching a place of pure intent. He loved people. And he hated people. He had a vision of a world based in love, play, discovery, and astonishment. Enough people had high regard for him, that the FBI feared him. So they killed him. When people speak of the profound loss of JFK and MLK they should add John Lennon to that list.
