In 1990, I was healed of liver disease. Jaundice taken out of my body. My physical addiction to alcohol was removed. God made Himself manifest to me thru the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. (That’s all I can imagine) In 2014, I died in Stony Brook University Hospital. I was resuscitated and my EF was 5% which is medically impossible. You can’t live and be conscious. After 3.5 days they told my family to put me in hospice. A woman was praying over the phone with my daughter, she suddenly exclaimed that she had a vision from the Holy Spirit. Angels were surrounding my bed. The last thing she said was “your father’s coming back.” I woke the next morning and when they checked my EF, it was now 11%. Low, for sure but viable, at the very least. The first was personal and the second was for my benefit as well as the folks in Stony Brook.

Justin Brierley recently wrote a book on this very subject. Stephen Meyer wrote The Return of the God Hypothesis. Eric Metaxas wrote Is Atheism Dead. All I know is I turned away numerous times and when I turned towards Him, things happened. Good things happened. Keep up the good work

I like Stephen Meyer. Eric Metaxas wrote a book about Bonhoeffer that was so full of historical errors (lies) that is was greatly critisized by historians. He changed things to make Bonhoeffer seem more like an "American Christian Nationalist" than who he really was - which I find extremely disgraceful. He punched a man, then lied about that also. In his book, "Letter to an American Church" - he stated that lying about something to get the result that you want is okay. I would recommend staying away from him.

@, you’re entitled. His book on miracles was well written and having experienced Gods grace and miraculous power, I’d recommend people read just to whet their appetites. His chapter on the creation of the universe, as far as we can tell, I’m primarily talking about how earth came to be earth, was good. I did see criticism (of the Bonhoeffer) when I looked it up just now, and get your point altho there were some who enjoyed the book and also spoke of issues.

Enjoyable is the first word here for a reason. Should I remind you all followed Jesus so long as they were getting what they wanted from Him? Healing and the prospect of freedom. Humans have always sought to gain from God, and this is no different. "LORD are only a few being saved?". This is the reaction to the realization of the human condition. They will heep up teachers according to their liking.

@seanpierce9386, the God of the universe proved Himself to me and He sent His Son Jesus to earth. The Moslems are partially right but their book was corrupted and we can never know where they went wrong. All original copies were destroyed and written from memory. The Bible was copied from originals and copied again and again. Karma is a thing, in a way. The difference is the Bible says you reap what you sow. You should look into what caused Nabeel Qureshi to convert and then write books about the differences. Have a good day

14:37 i hear this point parroted all the time by atheists when it comes to evolution. One in particular, when asked about whether we'd return to the same point we're at now if everything were to be reset said, "who knows what random, yet specific processes would need to take place." The issue is that you can't have something that is both random and specific. They're two different ideas.

Making God the exception to the rule is perfectly valid if we’re talking about a discrete set. However, for differential equations, it’s a singularity, not a first element. Moreover, time extending endlessly into the past is an equally valid assumption. Both types of model have their own problems, and we can’t yet rule one of them out.

The problem for you is - are they actually converting to true Christianity, as opposed to false Christianity or some other religion? There is no point in being happy about this if you are a believer who is engaged in the mutual condemnation between Christians that has been going on since the beginning of the faith. Thus, if there are people out there who claim to be Christian but whom you say are false Christians, heretics, or wolves in sheep's clothing, then there is little point in them returning to God if, by your own theology, they are all condemned to hell because they do not share your version of the truth.

Yes, the argument is an inductive one, and the idea behind the Kalam is that God is the end to that chain. God is effectively a special case, which is consistent and allowed. The real problems are: 1. An infinite regress is also mathematically allowable. It also solves a lot of problems for physical models. You can’t just rule it out. 2. Even if a there was no infinite regress, we’re dealing with a differential equation. So rather than a “first cause”, we’re left with a singularity, at least in the classical case. 3. It’s not possible to fully predict the beginning of the universe without quantum gravity or a similarly generalized model.

Or maybe the "universe grants you things if you pray like you have it already" god? Figure out which god is making a come back, and then you still have to show us any of the "miracles" that any holy man or messiah has ever done. Cmon, ask the holy spirit, you can do this.
