Cavalry can't flank, scout, do anything if it's pitch black. They did the only thing they could do - send them on a charge across what they knew was flat ground. The only other argument against that plan is: why not drop the horses altogether and leave the dothraki on foot. That would have been more effective. Otherwise cavalry charges are worthless in the dark unless you are 100% certain of the terrain.

@@shiroaccelerator4539 There is no such thing as a 10 minute copyright rule. He is avoiding copyright infringement from HBO by splitting the scenes up and dividing them + this can be presented as derivative work. The reason these videos are 10 minutes long is because you can place mid-roll ads on videos that are longer than 10 minutes and 1 second. Meaning that instead of 1 ad, you can place 2, 3 or even 4 ads. Plus the skippable ad in the beginning or the end, as well as overlay ads on the side of the video for people who watch this on a computer. At this moment, this video has has +700k views. I would say the creator of this video has made a good 2-3K USD, from this video alone. He has 3 of them. And he posted them less than 24 hours ago. You do the math. As someone who knows a lot about editing, I can tell you that this must've been quite tedious, considering how many different shots there were of different people and he had to sit through all the footage and find the best reactions. But I would say it was well worth it, considering the ad-revenue. And considering that this is a fucking reaction video. It doesn't really require any creativity. Just grunt work editing. Not hating on this kind of content, I get people are entertained and props to everyone involved in these videos.

Man if Rob was alive and in charge Of the defense of Winterfell , another story would be singing. Horrible battle strategy, first don’t have your light cavalry just head on blindly. Btw that was not even close to the supposedly 40,000 Dothraki. First you assemble your infantry outside the walls, all the archers on top of the wall. You create 2 lines of defense, 2 perimeter with trenches, the first one to break the impact of the first wave of the dead, then behind it your strongest infantry the unsullied, then behind them the second line of defense with another perimeter with trenches and the rest of your infantry. After the dead have attack then you send your cavalry to attack the flanks, the damage would be considerably. Then you have the Dragons firing up non stop on the fields. By the time the dead try to breach the castle their numbers would be to few to succeed.
Agreed, but the writers wanted to show how inexperienced these leaders are. None of them are aware of how successful battle tactics work because none of them was expected to ever be in this situation. They weren't raised for this, they are learning on the job, that's always messy. The battle was a complete mess. Afterwards they will berate each other about how foolish the plans were to push the point.
@richardstephens74215 жыл бұрын
Nah man, the dead army had hundreds of thousands of soldiers that did not tire and did not fear. I don’t care who the general is or what their plan is, you aren’t beating the undead army without killing the NK. The wights made the unsullied look like a joke and the dragons killed so many wights but they didn’t even make a dent in them. There are far too many of them, and then you also have the white walkers who are basically generals and then the NK riding around on his dragon that can destroy winterfell with its breath. They were fucked

@@cadenrolland5250Yes, but Yohn Royce didn't try to object at any point, nor do the other Northern lords. (And many of them weren't even called to the council, except for Alys Kastark, another inexperienced person) It seems that no one had even the more basics knowledge of battle tactics.

@TheRealist 811 Exactly. Personally I didn't have a problem with the lighting. But the writing is awful. That's what happens when you run out of source material and write yourself into a corner that you have to end the show abruptly and make shit out of your ass. The episode alone was freaking awesome, but the writing was terrible.
