We've also seen repeatedly that Oz gets impulsive whenever he's made fun of or mad. Guy's a true new yorker, short temper. Obviously he didn't intend for his brothers to die when he tied his shoes that morning seeing them down there making fun of him his first instict was "yeah? well fuck you both, hope you rot down there". And then they did. I don't even think he thought they'd die when he closed that door but as the night went on and he realized what exactly he'd done i also don't think he felt any remorse. He let the voices win and it got him exactly what he wanted, his mom all to himself. That's the kind of lesson that sticks with a kid, and it's how he became the fucked up gremlin we know today.

You guys struggle with reading the Sofia and Gina scenes. HA. In episode Gia's mom was scared of Sofia and didn't want her daughter interacting with Sofia, so she pulled Gia close. And that hurt Sofia. And in this episode Sofia told Gia the truth because she refused to lie and gaslight to a young girl in the family like her father and Oz did. She also knows she's crazy and not fit to raise her and wants her as far from the family and the life Sofia leads as possible.

Listen, with all due respect to the fact that the show is called Penguin, I sometimes find it really difficult to empathize with the main character. Sofia is in a much better position for me in this regard. She doesn't want Gia to be around the Falcone family, realizes that she can't give her what she deserves, so she distances her from herself. And as a result, she realizes that she is still her father's pawn. She has at least some reflection on her actions going on. While the asshole on the Penguin locks his brothers in the sewer and does not warn anyone about the bomb in the car. Well, a real leader, what can I say...
