I’ve never tried a snort wheeze, but I may give it a try this weekend.

I had this happen to me this morning. When he turned I advanced behind another tree to get a closer shot. Instead I should have waited him out and kept snort - wheezing when he wasn't looking. I won't miss tomorrow. If I get this buck, I will email you the pictures of it. He is a monster like the one over your left shoulder. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks. You likely won't see that one again. They typically don't fall for the same truck twice.

Game changer dude thanks I never ever heard these noises from deer until this year. I hunted sparingly but this year has changed it for me I want to go out every year and it’s all thanks to archery just yesterday on an all day hunt I had a group of deer blow at me me thinking it was a fight noise and me not having a call with the snort wheeze my idiotic self tried to mimic it with my mouth and from the first info here I basically told them to scram there’s danger here so not only did I ruin my hunt for that time of the day but I also feel like a dummy but I say it like this all the time. It’s never a loss but a lesson

Did a blind doe bleat and grunt this past week close to a bedding area. Followed up with a snort wheeze. In just a few minutes I heard a deer jump the fence. I could see a tree shaking. It was a half spike looking for the action and rubbing a tree. Cool experience. All by mouth. I do appreciate the volume of grunts you can get with call though. Just one less thing to carry in the woods. Thanks for sharing the info. Deer are much more vocal than what people realize. Their calls can be very light and hard to hear.

I had bucks snort wheeze at me 2 different times this year. Both times I couldn't see the bucks. The one smelled and followed my entrance in, the other heard me. I didn't know what it meant at the time. Thought they were just sniffing for me. Wish I wouldve know to call back at them and they might be on my wall.

The big 4x6 in my profile picture on here looked up at me downright insulted when I snort-wheezed at him in the rutt. Over grunts, bleet cans, and any other attractant/call I think a well-timed snort-weeze is your best option for turning a bucks trajectory into archery range.

Should I snort wheeze even when I don’t see a buck for every 15 seconds?

I'd just do it once or twice if you are blind calling. But only do it sparingly

Thanks Sean, even though I've hunted my entire life, I'm just starting out with calls, so I've been searching on line today for calling tips and advice, which is how I came across your channel. Very informative and they are some very impressive deer you have hanging behind you. I have never gotten a nice wall hanger so I'm on a mission this year to fix that. Early archery season opens this Saturday here in PA, I have not yet got to view all your videos but I will be, any advice on what call to start the year off with this Saturday to finally get a nice buck? Thanks Sean

don't forget the famous stomp they do before they do the alarm blow on you.... Also up here in South Eastern New Hampshire I've never heard a buck do a snort wheeze in my whole life and almost no vocalizations. I think it might be due to the compact nature of their ranges and huge hunter numbers.

Lips flapping, lol, the “wet fart” snort wheeze..... As for it being an intimidation call, that is 100% correct. However, it may not work on a smaller buck that knows there’s a dominant buck in the area. Snort wheezing works best when you do it at the dominant buck in that given area....
